In terms of sustainability Millennium bcp continues committed

to being transparent in the communication it establishes with

its Stakeholders, a commitment translated in the periodical

reporting of the Bank's activity that it renders available

through the several communication channels.

This document, also published in 2013, intends to materialize

the commitment assumed within the scope of the Responsible

Business, informing the Stakeholders on the main

actions/initiatives carried out by the Bank (Activity Portugal),

during the first six months of 2014, for the three sustainability

pillars:

Millennium bcp has been developing its activity in a responsible manner towards

the various Stakeholders, guiding its performance by internal principles of

rigour and by the regulations issued by the competent regulatory authorities.

The respect for its mission and values and also the compliance with its strategy

depends on each Employee, therefore Millennium bcp fosters a culture of rigour

and responsibility, based on permanent information disclosure, training and

monitoring mechanisms.

Anti money laundering and terrorism financing

Within this scope, the Compliance Office maintained its activity focused on: sifting through operations,

monitoring operations, prevalidating the opening and maintenance of entities and accounts, prevalidating

loans, interacting with the competent authorities and managing risk models.

Ethics and professional conduct

2nd International Meeting of the Group's Compliance Officers of BCP

Taking place in Portugal, the meeting enabled all who attended to clarify

concepts and principles, align strategies and behaviours, so as to promote

greater efficiency in the implementation of action plans and a reinforcement of

the Group’s Internal Control system.

Human Rights Policy

The Millennium Group published its commitment in terms of Human Rights, by

writing down and disclosing the institutional document – Human Rights Policy -.

In terms of training, we highlight the focus on Notice 5/2013 from Banco de

Portugal, which regulates the conditions, mechanisms and procedures required

for an effective compliance with the duty to prevent money laundering and

terrorism financing.


Service Quality

Company Clients Satisfaction

So as to improve the satisfaction of Company Clients with the

services provided by Millennium bcp Companies’ website, the Bank

continued to ask for the customers’ opinion on several matters.

Maximum Quality

The programme Maximum Quality was set in motion in the Retail Network to

promote service quality and strengthen Millennium bcp’s standing in terms of

customer assistance. The programme underlines and rewards the best individual

and collective performances in customer assistance.

Security

The Bank continued to work on disclosing information, mainly warning customers

about remote communication channels and self-banking, especially:

• Security Files;

• CMBI Article (Computer, Mobile, Bank and Information);

• APB's online Security Forum.


Closeness and reporting

Communication

In terms of communication flow regarding sustainability issues and initiatives, the

Bank continued to fulfil the communication plan defined, especially focusing on the

diversity and frequency of publications:

• External communication, by regularly updating the sustainability area in the

institutional website and by means of communications posted in social networks,

Facebook and YouTube;

• Internal communication through the Bank’s corporate channels.

Sustainability Report

The 2013 Sustainability Report was published in a separate volume, only in

soft copy, being a complement to the chapter – Responsible Business –

included in the Bank’s Annual Report, detailing the activities undertaken by

Group BCP throughout the year.

Improvements and Objectives

Millennium bcp published and promoted the document – Improvements and

Objectives 2013 -, reporting the activities undertaken by the Bank in

Portugal to meet the goals set in its Sustainability Plan.

Sustainability Indexes

Besides regularly making public disclosures on sustainability, Millennium bcp also answers to

external, independent entities – ESG Analysts (Environment, Social, Governance) -, by filling in

comprehensive questionnaires on the subject.

The cooperation in terms of reporting allowed the Bank to compare its performance to other

companies and to become part of Sustainability Indexes.

Training

Millennium bcp kept working on sharing knowledge and developing competences,

through various training actions. About one third in person, these actions focused on

the development of leadership and commercial competences, of which we underline

the GPSmove programme, targeting the Companies, Corporate and Large Corporate

segments.

Communication, website “Pessoas”

Based on the premise that keeping a close relationship between the Bank

and its Employees helps increase their motivation, Millennium bcp launched

a new staff-dedicated website “Pessoas”, an area that is part of the

internal portal, aimed to disclose a diverse set of contents relevant for the

Employees.

Global Management Challenge

Millennium bcp sponsored the largest strategy and management competition in the whole world –

Global Management Challenge –, having 112 Employees sign up, from 19 different Divisions, who had

the opportunity of developing technical and behavioural competences, decisive for the individual and

collective success and simultaneously for the possibility of interacting with other colleagues and

participants.

Millennium bcp provides a broad and complete range of financial products and

services for each Customer segment, incorporating social and environmental

concerns in an innovative manner, adjusted to the social economic framework

existing at any moment.

The strategy of Millennium bcp is the promotion of a culture of social

responsibility, developing actions for and with several groups of Stakeholders

aiming at, directly and indirectly, contributing to the social development of the

countries where it operates.

Financial Advisory Services

Aiming to continue to support customers struggling with

financial difficulties, and to avoid defaults, we continued

to promote the Financial Assistance Service (FAS).

American Express and Ajuda de Berço

Within the scope of a campaign to activate AMEX credit cards, a cooperation protocol was agreed on that ensures

the donation of 1 Euro to Ajuda de Berço (organisation that takes care of abandoned babies) per card activated. The

protocol also underlines the possibility of the card holders with the Membership Rewards scheme being able to

exchange points for donations to Ajuda de Berço.

Re-structuring Minimum banking services account

Aimed for Clients that do not hold any account in the banking system, this account intends to reduce the factors that

potentiate social exclusion. Between the opening and the migration of accounts, over 379 accounts are now in effect

with these conditions.

Non-profit Organizations Account

This account targets the third sector and, offering special conditions,

it does not require a minimum opening amount and its holders do not

have to pay maintenance or overdraft fees.

Investment in the creation of companies

Within the scope of the protocol established with Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) and with

the Mutual Guarantee Societies, the Bank continued to provide support to investment projects implying the

creation of companies by unemployed people - Microinvest Line and Invest+ Line -. Millenniumbcp funded 35

operations totalling more than 1 million Euros.

Social Investe

Millennium bcp signed a protocol with Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional, the Cooperative António

Sérgio para a Economia Social (CASES) and the Mutual Guarantee Societies. This protocol defines a credit line

amounting to 12.5 million Euros – Social Investe - supporting the social economy. Millenniumbcp funded

operations totalling around 250 thousand Euros.

Support to Agriculture and Fishing The bank remained available to grant funds, under the

protocol established with IFAP (Instituto de

Financiamento da Agricultura e Pescas), through the

credit lines – PRODER/ PROMAR and IFAP Curto Prazo -.


Funding development In the wake of the protocol signed with the Portuguese State through Instituto Financeiro para o

Desenvolvimento Regional (IFDR) and the Mutual Guarantee Societies, the Bank continued to grant the credit

line – INVESTE QREN - a line that helps companies face treasury needs and implement investment projects.

Millenniumbcp funded operations totalling around 786 thousand Euros.

Support granted to Turismo de Portugal

Credit lines resulting from a protocol established between Millennium bcp

and Turismo de Portugal for the purpose of enabling investment for

projects aimed at the requalification of tourist complexes and at the

creation of new tourist complexes, restaurants and leisure activities.

Millennium bcp granted more than 5.4 million Euros.

Support the growth of the economy

Under the protocols signed with the IAPMEI, PME

Investimentos and the Mutual Guarantee Societies

to support investment projects or increase the

working capital, the Bank maintained the Linha PME

Millennium bcp Microcredit Within the scope of the promotion and disclosure of the microcredit product, the

Bank continued to make an effort to be closer to entrepreneurs, through various

actions, such as:

• Cooperation Protocol between Millennium bcp and the Regional Government

of the Azores;

• With support from Millennium bcp and the European Union, the European Microfinance Network (EMN) held its 11th Annual Conference in Lisbon;

• Within the scope of the Protocol with Acountia, Millennium bcp participated in

the Seminars “How to take advantage of the Economic Recovery”;

• Protocol with the Municipalities of Angra do Heroísmo and Ribeira Grande;

• Participation in the Workshop on “Micro-funding solutions for corporate

initiatives”, promoted by Associação Industrial Portuguesa;

• An employee of Millennium bcp's Microcredit Department participated in the

Idea Lab, an initiative of the European Microfinance Network (EMN) in

Brussels.

Donations of equipment and furnishings Within the scope of the management of obsolete IT equipment and office

furniture able of being reused, Millennium bcp continues to donate the same

to non-profit entities. More than 2,358 pieces were donated.

Support to Culture - Festival ao Largo

Millennium bcp supported the 6th edition of Festival ao Largo, a set of opera,

ballet and symphonic music shows at Largo de São Carlos, in Lisboa. Helping

artistic creation and broadening the audience by sharing cultural events for

free.

Other donations

Millennium bcp has, for certain periods of time, provided a location

in Tagus Park for charitable organisations to collect funds. Among

others, the following entities pursued this goal near the food hall:

Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Mulher com Cancro da Mama

(Breast Cancer Support Association), o Movimento ao Serviço da

Vida (association that supports children, homeless and elderly

people) and CERCI Oeiras (association that supports people with

disability).


Recognition

The Direct Banking Division (DBD) was awarded the Good Social Responsibility

Award by the Portuguese Association of Contact Centres, in recognition of the

work carried out by the division and the response of the Employees within the

scope of the Bank’s social commitment.


Sharing and awareness

Financial Literacy

In terms of financial literacy, Millennium bcp has contributed to increase the level of financial literacy and

the adoption of adequate financial behaviours, helping customers with their family budgets, mainly through

the publication of contents.

Preventing forest fires

Millennium bcp joined the 2014 edition of the ECO movement - Empresas Contra

os Fogos (Corporations Against Fires), a civilian project aiming to help prevent

forest fires and raise the public’s awareness of dangerous behaviours.


Portuguese Food Bank

The Bank (Employees and their families) continued to participate in the regular

collection of food for the Portuguese Food Bank. In total, about 100 volunteers,

employees and their families, gave their charitable contribution at several

warehouses in the country, weighting, separating and packing the donated goods.

Junior Achievement Portugal

The Bank continued to cooperate with Junior Achievement Portugal,

promoting the development of entrepreneurial programmes, risk

appetite, creativity and innovation, through:

• The exclusive sponsoring from Fundação Millennium bcp to the

StartUp Programme (7th Edition), for university students;

• Millennium bcp’s support to the programmes for basic and

secondary schools.

Partnerships with Universities

The Bank maintains a close relationship with the Universities, creating conditions

for internships. During the first semester some students were able to put in place

the knowledge acquired by participating in an internship.

The Summer Internships Millennium bcp organises are also part of the strategy to

combine the academic and professional areas, stimulating students to acquire

important know how for their professional future, regardless of the path they

come to choose.

Movement for Employment

Within the scope of the participation in 2013 in “Movimento para a Empregabilidade”, (Movement for Employment)

promoted by the Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional (IEFP) together with the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian

and COTEC – Associação Empresarial para a Inovação, Millennium bcp provided 100 internships during the 1st half of

2014.

Millennium bcp seeks to make these internships into a rich learning experience for young people, thus translating its

social responsibility awareness, which causes the company to promote the Movimento para a Empregabilidade.



During the 1st half of 2014, Fundação Millennium bcp continued to focus

on the production and generation of benefits for society by participating

in projects oriented towards increasing access to culture, education and

social inclusion, highlighting the following:

Responsible Business 1st half of 2014 - Portugal Environmental Responsibility

Millennium bcp sees the management of environmental aspects as a

responsibility shared by the whole Bank.

Its environmental policy is divided into three essential pillars that aim to

minimise the Bank’s direct impact on the environment as well as the indirect

impact associated with its Customers’ activity:

•To support its Customers in the transition into an economy with smaller

environmental impact;

•To reduce Millennium bcp’s ecological footprint;

•To involve, influence and be influenced by Society.

Reducing spending

In terms of environmental management, Millennium bcp launched on the Energy Day an internal campaign to cut

down on consumption, especially of electricity and water, not only aiming to share information on what has been

done to manage these resources in a more efficient manner, but also to promote and introduce behaviours that

help use them in a more rational manner.

The initiative, active throughout 2014, translates, among other communication initiatives, into stickers on the walls

of the Branches and Bank Office buildings warning employees for water and electricity consumption and reinforcing

the message that every one’s contribution counts. The campaign extends to other goods and will target paper

consumption in the second half of the year. To do this the stickers defined to place on the Bank’s printers seek to

raise awareness for the need to rationalise printing.

Green IT Programme

The Bank continued to bet on the Green IT programme, promoted by the IT Division,

encompassing a set of actions aiming to manage the available resources better, identifying

and setting in motion a series of actions and solutions that translate into environmental and

technological gains. Within the scope of the communication plan, we highlight the frequent

articles and awareness activities regarding environmental issues.

As a result of this programme and of a policy favouring the constant adaptation of the means

available to the functional needs, the Division was able to consolidate the use of webcasting

tools and significantly reduce the number of local prints, and, at the same time, increase

the number of digital outputs produced by the business support systems.
