Map of Medicine http://www.mapofmedicine.com/ Map of Medicine is an online clinical knowledge resource which supports the optimisation of care by providing 24/7 access to comprehensive, evidence-based guidance and clinical decision support at the point of care. To access Map of Medicine you will need to log in using your NHS OpenAthens account, then create your own Map of Medicine account. NHS Evidence www.evidence.nhs.uk Managed by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), this site enables access to authoritative clinical and non-clinical evidence and best practice through a web-based portal. Includes access to the British National Formulary, NICE guidance and much more. NHS Evidence A-Z Topics http://www.evidence.nhs.uk/topics New clinical topic pages provide access to the latest guidelines, high quality patient information, research uncertainties and other selected information across a wide range of conditions. Users can also register to get updates on changes to guidance. NHS Choices – Health A-Z – Pain http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Pain/Pages/Painhome.aspx NHS Choices is the online “front door” to the NHS. Organisations Pain Concern http://painconcern.org.uk/ The organisation is based on the belief that pain is best faced together by the ‘Pain Community’ of people with pain, their family, supporters and healthcare professionals. Pain Relief Foundation http://www.painrelieffoundation.org.uk/ A UK charity which funds research into the causes and treatment of human chronic pain and is concerned with education of health professionals about pain management. The Pain Society http://www.britishpainsociety.org/ Involved in all aspects of pain and its management. Healthcare professionals can join the Society.

The Migraine Trust http://www.migrainetrust.org/ The health and medical research charity for migraine in the United Kingdom. Includes a page for health professionals, and an online migraine diary for sufferers. The Knowledge Network: Chronic Pain http://www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk/pain.aspx Aiming to make pain management techniques widely known, rather than a specialty.

UW Division of Pain Medicine http://depts.washington.edu/anesth/care/pain/ UW Medical Center is home to the world's first multidisciplinary pain clinic, which opened in 1961 and became a world model for the diagnosis, study and treatment of chronic and acute pain. See especially Pain Medicine Provider toolkit under Education. Pain Management Research Institute (University of Sidney) http://sydney.edu.au/medicine/pmri/ Research at PMRI pursues the broad theme that persistent pain is a disease entity with its own symptoms, signs and underlying disorders such as abnormal sensory, spinal cord and brain neuronal physiology, neurochemistry, anatomy, and pathology.
