Resolution to Authorize Quadrangle Interior Renovations in the Amount of $8,000,000

Intention: Business Services wishes to proceed with interior renovations for the Quadrangle. The rooms and public spaces in the Quadrangle need painting and a variety of repairs such as drywall patching, baseboard repairs and caulking to seal penetrations and cracks. The bathrooms are in disrepair and need wall and tile repair, as well as painting. New floor finishes in some of the lounge spaces will also be included if funds allow. The project is estimated to cost $8,000,000 and will be funded by Business Services general purpose funds, hotel reserves, Business Services renewal and replacement fund and Executive Vice President general purpose funds. Resolution to Authorize Revised Budget for Ryan Animal Hospital Air Handling Unit 3 and 4 Replacement for an Additional $2,000,000 (Total Revised Budget of $7,200,000)

Intention: In February 2011, the Trustees approved a $4,000,000 project for replacement of two air handling units supporting the first floor trauma and emergency rooms, the second and fourth floor animal suites and the third floor patient wards at Ryan Animal Hospital. In September 2011, the Trustees approved an additional $1,200,000 for the installation of a demand control ventilation system which optimizes ventilation to maximize energy efficiency, safety and productivity. The School of Veterinary Medicine now requests approval of an additional $2,000,000 based on competitive bids received on the project. There is no change in scope from the previously approved project. The total project is estimated to cost $7,200,000 and will be funded by a Commonwealth Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant, funding from the Vice Provost for Research, the University Energy Reduction Fund, the University Facilities Renewal Fund Matching Program and school special purpose funds. Intention: The School of Dental Medicine wishes to proceed with the renovation of the endodontic clinic in the Evans Building. The existing clinic will be demolished, and existing mechanical space will be reclaimed to provide additional clinical chair space. The renovation will also include replacement of all related dental mechanical equipment, upgrade of the existing HVAC equipment, and new energy-efficient lighting and window treatments. The project is estimated to cost $2,100,000 and will be funded by gifts in hand, pledged and to be raised and school special purpose funds. Intention: The Perelman School of Medicine wishes to proceed with the expansion of the 1,600 square foot small animal imaging facility located in the John Morgan Building. The spaces to be renovated include an existing imaging lab, a workshop, office space, and animal holding and support spaces. The existing imaging lab will be expanded to support equipment being relocated from the Richards Building. The lab will also include a new control room and three new holding rooms. A new air handling unit is being added to support the expanded animal holding area. The project is estimated to cost $1,690,000 and will be funded by school special purpose funds.
