Citra Center

A leading provider of substance abuse servicesin Florida, Phoenix House treats adolescents inTampa at our Derek Jeter Center and adults atour Tampa Outpatient Counseling Center.In Marion County, our Citra residential facilitytreats individuals whose substance abuse isadvanced or complicated by mental healthproblems, and we provide transitional housingservices in Ocala to support sustainablerecovery.

Phoenix House Citra Center provides substance abusetreatment to women in a welcoming residential setting.

Residential Treatment for WomenThe Phoenix House Women's Program providesgender-specific treatment for women statewidewho suffer from substance use disorders and/ormental health issues that may be complicated bysubstance use. Located on peaceful, secludedgrounds on Phoenix House's campus in Citra,Florida, the program utilizes evidence-basedpractices to help women develop trust, self-esteem, and personal responsibility in a physic-ally and psychologically safe environment.Length of stay is determined by individualassessment and progress toward clinical goals.

Therapeutic ProgramOur Women's Program combines vital counsel-ing, educational, and recreational activities thatchallenge residents to understand the nature oftheir substance abuse and become accustomedto living without alcohol and drugs. At PhoenixHouse, residents are motivated to pursue posi-tive goals and values. Family involvement isencouraged, as is mother/child reunification.GED classes are provided on site, and we alsooffer employment referrals and housingplacement assistance.

ServicesOur treatment plan includes: individual, group,and family counseling; life-skills training andeducational/vocational opportunities; educa-tion on substance abuse effects; relapse pre-vention skills; and participation in AlcoholicsAnonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and otherappropriate self-help groups. The program issupervised 24 hours a day by our professionalstaff.

Importance of FamilySuccessful recovery from substance abuse issustained by family involvement, support, andencouragement. Families, too, need to reversethe damage of drugs and alcohol. Our staffworks closely with family members to helpthem understand the role they play in theirloved one's recovery.

Discharge PlanningResidents work on discharge planning through-out treatment. Participation in a continuing caregroup is recommended.

Payment OptionsSelf-referred clients and those fulfilling legalobligations are welcome. Most major creditcards and insurance plans are accepted.

The Phoenix House Women's Program is accred-ited by CARF, a nationally recognized standardof excellence.
