Our Commitment to YouA Message from Jane Sinclair, GM, Health & Emergency Services

e hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and are relishing in the fantastic fall weather

and beautiful autumn colours. We are excited to bring you the

most recent updates about what’s happening in your home, as we continue working diligently to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.

Resident and Family surveys were distributed during our summer months and results will be coming to you shortly. We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to working on how we can continue to improve and provide the highest standard of care and services for your loved ones.

We are also pleased to share with you our success in the Georgian Village Adult Day Program receiving a Seniors Community Grant of $2,952.80 from the Government of Ontario to support seniors within

the community to stay connected through social events and activities. The Program featured community events that engaged seniors and the local community with fellowship, families and social interaction including barbeques, entertainment and activities throughout the summer. Was a fun filled summer for all to enjoy!

In September of this year, we received approval from the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN to hire a full time Registered Nurse to support the use of Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) in 29 long-term care

homes across this region, including our own four (4) homes. OTN is a video network system used in hospitals, long-term care homes, and for residents in the community to make it easier for individuals to receive treatment from medical specialists without having to travel long distances to see them in their

offices or clinic settings. Physician assessments

and care can be provided directly from

our homes to ensure residents receive timely

and effective care. If you think this technology might assist your loved one,

please speak to a nurse in your home to find out more

about this helpful technology. With such wonderful weather

upon us, my best wishes to you, your families and friends for a wonderful fall season and look forward to bringing you more updates in future.
