Conclusion This film is unique as it did not include

credits. I can use the inside of the prison to

portray a real feeling in my project. The loud yelling and banging adds to the overall feeling of chaos and danger. The establishing shot we can use to introduce the setting of the prison.

Escape Plan

Background to Scene Director of film was Steven Spielberg This relates to our film as it has the

flashback which we will be using, as well as action.

The location is first at a cemetery, then into the battle field.

The transition from present to past is what we will use.

Conclusion Although the military is not included in

ours, the idea of a flashback is a big role in our intro. I would like to use the close up of the eyes in the transition, as it shows the actor thinking back.

Saving Private Ryan

Page 15: Research pt.2

Background to Scene Director was James Cameron In the opening scene, there are videos of

the ship leaving port. It then fades into the sunken ship being explored.

Further along, the old lady, who was aboard the ship begins discussing the ship, followed by a fade into her flashback.

Conclusion This film will be our main focus in

portraying the flashback as the prison will begin abandoned, as is the ship. Also, the use of an elder person will be used in ours as well.

Background to Scene Season 2, Episode 1 Director is Bradley Buecker In this scene, a newly wed couple is at an

abandoned building. The opening scene takes place in present time, and is then presented with a flashback. It also introduces to the audience that this is a scary show.

American Horror Story-Asylum

Page 22: Research pt.2

Cinematic Techniques Establishing Shot shows how big the

building is Lowkey lighting shows there is no

electricity and they must use flash lights. Upbeat music is used to add to the

excitement and action.

AHS-Asylum

Opening Credits Each season is a different theme;

therefore they relate to their theme in the credits. There is no specific order of the actors, but producer and writer are written last. Each season has a loud, distinct score with different clips. The font used is a creepy font. With each name, the score becomes louder. The names are given on a black screen in a gold font.

AHS-Asylum

Page 24: Research pt.2

Conclusion The opening credits are important here as

they add to the overall creepy feel of the show. This also includes the flashback of the abandoned building we will be using. The score is important in creating the tone, which my group will keep in mind.
