Research Into Existing Music Videos

Chris Brown - Beautiful People Performance/location/costumes: This video has a realistic/music video feel. The video starts off looking staged, watching the video more it starts to look realistic. The video starts to show famous artists listening to the song in the studio (their natural habitat), you see people dancing to the song acting natural. We see Chris Brown on a scooter with what looks to be his friends, this in turn looks natural and looks to have been shot in one take. Filming in a taxi makes the video look more natural. Chris Brown doesn’t perform in this video, the video films everyone being ordinary. The clothes he wears are somewhat what you’d expect a hipster to wear which in turn suits the R&B, hip hop, dance genre which suits the casual clothes he wears.

Performance/location/costumes:Their performance was spectacular, regardless of being just a band they pulled off a good performance. With there being 11 songs in the album and 11 videos to go with each individual song to create a video which shows their mission to ‘save rock and roll’. Performing in their video as themselves made it look like a short movie describing their fight to keep rock and roll alive. Their With their genre being pop punk, pop rock, alternative rock their dark outfits fit the genre of their music. Them wearing black makes them look more punk rock in comparison to if they wore colourful pink shirts; this wouldn’t match the genre as it would be more pop than rock. The locations matched the songs/genre. There were several locations which went with the story line. The locations were dark and discoloured. The 11 video instillation has a variety of locations that flow well together. From going to a suburban neighbourhood to being kidnaped in a dark warehouse to hiding in an abandoned hospital to going to what looks like heaven where all actors dress in white and defeat the bad guys.
