Research into DirectorsDIRECTORS THAT HAVE SPARKED MY INTEREST

Jake NavaJake Nava is a director of music videos and TV commercials, having created award-winning works over the past decade for some of the best-known artists and brands worldwide.

He has directed many music videos for a whole range of artists, in my opinion and from the work that I have seen that he has directed, he is good at taking what the musicians what and producing exactly that rather than him having his own particular style. However a few of the videos that he has directed, I think are very nice, they are also in the style that I would like my music video to follow.

Those consist of:

-Arctic Monkeys, Arabella

-Beyoncé, If I were a boy

They both have that monochrome look with varied shots, transitions and camera movement which I really like.

W.I.Z Andrew "W.I.Z." Whiston, born 21 July 1962, is an English director of films and music videos. He is currently signed to the production company Academy Films. He previously worked with Factory Films and Oil Factory Inc. I think this is why I like his work so much, he has that oil, old fashioned look in some of the music videos that he has directed that I think looks very effective and will go with the idea for a music video that I have.

He has directed videos such as:

- Kings Of Leon, Supersoaker

- Kasabian, Fire

- Oasis, Outta Time

He is my favourite director that I have researched into as he really does use that old fashioned look well, he gives the videos a grainy effect which gives them an antique feel. This is exactly what I wanted my music video to look like, have that effect.

This video is directed beautifully, with theatrical and performance shots, there are also elements of narrate which is exactly what I would like to create in my music video, I bit of everything.

The sheer style of the video is also beautiful with the grainy look, this is what I aspire to recreate with my own video however more monochrome.
