2. 2. SNATCH Snatch is one of the most successful British Gangster films, making a 25 million dollar profit. It has been very influential towards other British gangster films and will be towards my British gangster opening. The conventions of the opening that will be influential to me will be the colorful, cartoon like credits with freeze frames, low level lighting, voiceovers, two-shots and props including guns and objects showing wealth with costumes including long coats and shirts.
3. 3. Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels This film was one of the first for Guy Ritchie before Snatch or RocknRolla and was slightly less successful making around 3 million dollars in profit. It was very influential to his future of directing and the rest of the British gangster genre. The opening is conventional with non-diegetic rock music, slow motion and voiceovers. Two shots with costumes including long coats and shirts.
4. 4. Layer Cake Layer cake was not one of the most successful, making a profit of around 2 million pounds, similarly to LSTSB. It is very influential to the genre and shares conventions in its opening with other films such as slow motion, a voiceover, gun props, rock music and costumes including long jackets and smart clothes.

It was very different and challenged conventions making it very influential and changing the way we look at the genre. However, the conventions they did use include non-diegetic rock music, a voiceover and freeze frames for the credits.
6. 6. RocknRolla RocknRolla was the second very successful film from Guy Ritchie profiting 25 million dollars. Its opening is very conventional with non-diegetic rock music, a voice over, cartoon like credits and low level lighting. It will be very influencial towards my project.
