What is a Double Page Spread?
• In page layout and typography, a spread (also known as a two-page spread) is the unit formed by two adjacent, facing pages in a magazine or other publication, featuring a single image (such as a photograph or
a piece of artwork) or a themed group of images.
Forms & Conventions of Double Page spreads
Set on two pages, as text drags on to next
page.
Usually a collection of images relating to issue. Sometimes
pictures are spread out, sometimes boxed together.
There is always bold writing to highlight the main point.
Often contains extra information

This is an example of a food page in Time Out Magazine. It shows recipes and
recommends food tips.
These Time Out magazine double page spreads are inspirational
because it gives us a rough guide where to advertise our
documentary.
