INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT SERVICES:

Ellucian Colleague Unidata to SQL migration

1. PROJECT OVERVIEW

Macomb Community College is preparing to migrate its Unidata/HP-UX Ellucian Colleague environment to a Microsoft SQL platform. This long term project consists of three phases:

1. Move UniData/HP-UX Colleague system administration to a firm specializing in that competency so Macomb can focus existing internal resources on SQL migration planning and employee retraining.

2. Conduct third party “SQL readiness” study: Unidata-to-SQL and HP-UX to Windows migration scoping assessment.

3. Unidata to SQL Migration.

Through this RFP, the College seeks to locate firms (or firm) for phases one and two. The College will accept bids for either or both.

Firms bidding on phase one must have extensive, proven experience in Ellucian Colleague/Unidata/HP-UX administration.

Firms bidding on phase two must have extensive, proven experience in migrating heavily customized Ellucian Colleague/Unidata/HP-UX based institutions to a SQL environment, including automated tools to identify customizations and estimate effort.

An RFP for phase three will be released at a later date based on outcomes and data produced by phase two. The firm that is awarded a contract for phase one, phase two or both WILL BE permitted to bid on the system migration project itself (Phase three).

While Macomb prefers the engineers to work on-site, remote-based support is acceptable providing firms can demonstrate the quality, depth and breadth of their services through references and case studies.

Please see sections 9 and 10, “Scope of Services”, for detailed engagement requirements of each phase.

2. PUBLIC STATEMENT
