Mr. Saatkamp,
My name is Lisa Tilton and I am the Publisher of an online News Blog called GallowayTwpNews.com.
Yesterday I received a Press Release from the Restore GallowayTeam questioning your apparent attendance at
Fundraiser hosted by Atlantic County for Galloway Mayor Don Purdy.
The accusations of the Restore Galloway Team are that you attended a $300 per person event which apparently intheir opinion is making them question a relationship between yourself and Mayor Don Purdy.President Saatkamp didattend the event as he does for many such local and state events when invited by either political party and whenhis schedule permits. He does not pay to attend these events. Its an opportunity for candidates to understandStockton and its impact on the area. Sometimes candidates come talk with him for the same purpose and he ispleased to make himself available.
They have also stated the Township and Stockton (SASI) still have not reached an agreement regarding the PILOT foStockton Seaview property which is due to expire this year. I have been able to verify the accuracy of thatstatement.As a point of clarification on the PILOT, the existing one is in effect until January 2014 and has been paid.
A meeting was held last January and a new PILOT reflecting an increase was negotiated and agreed upon. We aremerely awaiting the paperwork by 2014.
The last accusation the Restore Galloway Team has stated, is Don Purdy has a contract with Stockton College withhis private business.The Purdy automotive business is one of the vendors we use for vehicle work, but not the onlyone. Not all vendors are approved for state contract pricing.. Purdy is one that is.
I would like to request a response to their accusations and further request a comment and/or statement regarding anyalleged contract with Don Purdy and the status of the PILOT agreement with the Township of Galloway.
