Frankenstein

Frankenstein is a novel written by English author Mary Shelley about eccentric scientist Victor Frankenstein, who creates a grotesque but sentient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment.

Representation of men in Frankenstein:

There are some male characters in Mary Shelley's modern Prometheus or Frankenstein. While reading ‘Frankenstein’ one cannot, or someone notice that some male characters equally with female seem to have passive role.

Male characters are criticize because of their passivity.

They blamed in the novel for the reason of passive role of women and not paying attention to the other circumstances.

•Male characters in ‘Frankenstein’ are more developed that those of the females.• In Frankenstein, almost every level in the character tree there is a dominant male character that play a significant role in the plot.• It is clear that Mary Shelley is projecting through Frankenstein what she thought the typical man of the early 1800s.
