P.V.S. Sai. In his welcome address Prof. Sai highlighted details about Siva Sivani Group, its

international affiliations and some details about SMF.

In the panel Discussion the first speaker Smt. C.S. Rama Lakshmi highlighted certain difficulties

and challenges faced by women in creating and sustaining a great work place. “Woman should

be like a mother when she is leading the organization and like a daughter-in-law when she is

surviving in the organization. She quoted her own experiences and challenges and explained

how she could overcome them. Also she quoted experiences of Senior women Civil Servants

who could successfully overcome the challenges in their life.

Mr. Sudhakara Rao, Former ED (HR) HAL, advised the students not to look for Great Places to

work instead he advised them to join ordinary places and make them great work places by virtue

of their talent.

Mr. Susanta Ganguli, Vice President Corporate HR, L&T Metro Rail, opined that great work

places can be created and sustained only when employees have commitment to the organization

which reflects in their long term stay. He quoted L&T metro rail as an example where people

have been working for the last 25 to 30 years and how they made L&T as a great place to work.

He also felt that creating a great work place is not that difficult but sustaining it is very difficult.

Dr. G.B.S. Prasad, Director (P) felt that organizations can transform themselves from good to

great when they make the employees ‘feel at home’ . He made a comparison between

organization and home in terms of 2 to 3 generations present, concern for family

members/people, collective sharing of success or failure/happiness or sadness, member

cohesiveness mother/father touch (superior subordinate relations), sibling relations (peer group

influence) etc.

Mr. B. Hemanth Rao, Regional Director, National Productivity Council, opined that good talent

management, employee development, integration of diverse interests, harmonious relations

between members will make a great work place and proper systems and processes and adherence

to them by employees will sustain such greatness for a longer period.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Vice President, HR, NFCL group, opined that trust between employer and

employees, among the employees, perfect match between the employer and employee

expectations from each other are some of the important factors that create and sustain a great

place to work.

Sri. Abhirama Krishna, Director, South State Business School moderated the proceedings by

introducing the panel members to the audience and coordinating question answer session.

Mrs. Aarathy Samapthy, president Siva Sivani group presented mementos to the panel members

and moderators. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr, Pavan Patel and national

anthem.
