REPORT ON “ISF Inauguration”

Held at SINHGAD INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE,

NARHE, PUNE- 41 on 19th January, 2013

The inauguration of IETE Student Forum was organized by Sinhgad Institute of

Technology & Science, Narhe, Pune on 19th

January, 2013. The function was

presided over by Prof. S. R. Jog, Chairman, IETE, Pune Centre along with Dr. P. W.

Wani, Vice Chairman, IETE, Pune Centre (Ex Dean, Faculty of Engineering,

University of Pune) and Mr. Gopaldas Dawara, Secretary, IETE, Pune Centre.

The function has started in traditional way with Saraswati pooja followed by the

felicitation of Guests. Mr. Gopaldas Dawara addressed students and gave the brief

about Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). Prof. S. R.

Jog addressed students and gave information about the upcoming technical events

organized by IETE, Pune Centre like Project Competition, IETE Journal of

Innovation and Research, Workshop on Electromagnetic Engineering. He also

emphasized on benefits of students participation in such event to develop technical

knowledge. Prof. Jog appreciated the SITS Student Forum with maximum number

(more than 150) of ISF members and for the efforts taken by Prof. Suvarna Kulkarni,

ISF Coordinator, SITS, Pune. Dr. P. W. Wani, Vice Chairman, IETE, Pune Centre,

Ex-Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Pune University encouraged students for broader

vision in acquiring the technical knowledge. Dr. S. N. Mali, Principal, SITS

encouraged students for participation in such technical events and also to increase

the student membership in professional bodies.The function concluded with vote of

thanks by Prof. Suvarna Kulkarni, ISF coordinator, SITS, Pune.
