Engineers’ Day celebration 2019
Engineers’ Day is celebrated on September 15 every year in India commemorating
the birthday of one of the greatest engineers in India Sir Mokshagundam
Visvesvarayya, popularly known as Sir MV. This was 51st anniversary of the
Engineers Day in India and 158th birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
On the occasion of this auspicious event Jorhat Engineering College ISTE Student’s
chapter organized several events on 15th September 2019.
The ISTE students’ chapter released the 2019 edition of the Technomag- The
technical wall magazine followed by four competitions to be participated by the
students of Jorhat engineering college.
The events were grand success as many participants turned up to participate in
the various events. The winners and runners up were given certificates of
excellence and trophies.
The following events were held on engineers’ day 2019.
Wall Magazine Release:
The 2019 edition of the Technical wall Magazine- Technomag was inaugurated by
The Principal of Jorhat Engineering College Dr. Reeta Sarmah. The theme for the
wall magazine was ‘Cyber Security’.
Back Door Scientist:
The participants need to design a powered vehicle with the limited items
provided to them. The aim of the competition was to judge the participants
based on their creativity and design skills, to design a powered vehicle in
limited time with very limited resources.

Egg Drop Challenge:
The participants need to make a structure to hold an egg in such a way that the
egg does not break even when dropped from a height.

Group Discussion:
It was a competition based on communication skills. The participants sit together
and discuss on a topic, the participants were judged based on their view points on
the topic and the way they expressed it with their communication skills.

Codingspree:
It is a coding competition where the participants need to solve the problems
given to the participants in a limited time using programming languages. The
participants were judged based on their problem solving skills.
