Kent Road/ Stockport Road siteKent Road/ Stockport Road siteKent Road/ Stockport Road siteKent Road/ Stockport Road site This site has been derelict and an eyesore for years. The owner should be ashamed to leave the land in this state for so long. We have asked the Council's Planning Enforcement Officer to contact the owner and advise him he needs to either develop this site or make it look acceptable. A letter has been sent stating that: The hoardings need to be replaced with a new fence at least 2 metres high and then painted, 2 coats, with paint used for exterior woodwork. He also needs to cut the vegetation down to at least half a metre below the new fence. The Officer will visit again in March to see if the work has been done and if not formal action will be taken.

The entrance on Edgeley Fold that was closed, following considerable anti-social behaviour affecting nearby residents will remain closed. The new access provides an alternative route into and out of the park. All three bowling greens are now protected by fencing and are looking very good.

This reflects Labour’s commitment to Dignity in Care and care workers, who care for some of our most vulnerable residents. The uplift applies to providers across Residential and Nursing Care Homes, and Homecare provision offered within an individual’s home, in Stockport. The plans were approved by Stockport’s Labour Cabinet at the Tuesday 5th February meeting. "This is great news and I am proud this has been brought about by a Labour-led Council" said Matt Wynne.Matt Wynne.Matt Wynne.Matt Wynne.

Stockport Academy and the Leisure CentreStockport Academy and the Leisure CentreStockport Academy and the Leisure CentreStockport Academy and the Leisure Centre The school and the Leisure Centre are very popular which means there are a great many cars in the area of Kensington Road/Heathbank Road, particularly at school drop off and pick up times. Cllr Philip HardingCllr Philip HardingCllr Philip HardingCllr Philip Harding said "We have had complaints about speeding traffic and propose to ask the school and the Leisure Centre to remind people

there is a 20mph area outside the school entrance and road humps on Kensington Road and

Heathbank Road to slow down traffic". We have also asked for a sign at the exit from the site to remind people about the 20mph speed limit, this is a residential area and people need to drive slowly. In addition some drivers, a small minority, park in the road when delivering children to school. This causes problems for local residents.

Residents subsequently met with the Council's Head of Neighbourhoods on site and a plan was agreed. Part of this was that there would be a programme of planting new trees in the park.
