REPLY BY AUTHORS We certainly agree that other associations such as giggle incontinence and intravaginal urine trapping could be related to daytime urinary incontinence in children. However, we would be interested to know how information on these factors can be elicited from parents. We used the ROME II scale 1 to formulate the questions on constipation and performed the questionnaire validation process (reference 13 in ar- ticle). This process is meant to reduce bias by detect- ing any ambiguity or misinterpretation on the part of parents. We also agree that the low response rate may have resulted in overreporting the prevalence of daytime incontinence, thus limiting the general- izability of the results. However, this overreporting bias does not affect the magnitude of the association between exposure and outcome. REFERENCE 1.
