Did you know? CyberKnife can noninvasively treat prostate cancer in ve or fewer treatment sessions. How it works: CyberKnife treats prostate cancer with a procedure called stereotac:c body radia:on therapy, a noninvasive method of trea:ng tumors with precisely targeted high-dose radia:on. The result is greatly increased accuracy that spares healthy Lssue. Prior to treatment, small metal :ssue markers known as ducials are implanted in the prostate to help the CyberKnife pinpoint the tumor loca:on throughout each treatment, ensuring the radiaLon beams delivered during treatment are always locked on the tumor. Pa:ents are then scheduled for no more than ve CyberKnife treatments. Each treatment takes about 30 - 40 minutes, and paLents can return to their normal rouLnes following each procedure. In recent years, CyberKnife has gained awareness among prostate cancer pa:ents in par:cular. Many men are drawn to the convenience of shorter treatment and fewer side eects. 645 North Arlington Ave Suite 120 Reno, NV 89503 (775) 348-9900 www.renocyberknife.com 4.
