Project Management Procurement Cost Control Scheduling
We have in-house estimation, design engineering and project management capabilities. Each of these functions have independent platforms which they work on and coordination is established manually by telephone or e-mails.

Estimation
21.09.2012
• Both in the tender phase and during execution we use excel sheets to formulate our budgets and customer BOQs.
• We have direct and indirect budget workbooks with lots of sheets linked to each other with very complicated formulas and macros.
• We have predefined assemblies and BOQ items which are updated manually with feedback from construction sites.
• We use Primavera and Microsoft Project for scheduling purposes.

So, What is the Problem?
Why do we need anything else ?
Business Intelligence Reporting
22www.rencons.com
Problems
• Estimation No centralized database
Different estimation results based on different teams
No direct link to financial system, procurement or design
Separate excel sheets with links open to user manipulation
Estimation is not transparent for execution phase
Complicated format, hard to adapt for new comers, hard to understand
the underlying assumptions
Can easily distribute company knowledge to outside, security issues
No direct feedback from execution and update of assemblies
21.09.2012 23www.rencons.com
Design No common design platform for all disciplines
Coordination and clash problems between disciplines
Revision update problems
Can not evaluate financial results of different design alternatives and change orders easily
Project Management Change management, transparency to clients
No direct link to design or estimation
No standardized processes
Managerial Reporting Issues, (Currency effects, comparison with tender,..etc.)
Coordination problems
Variation between estimation and actual costs

CHALLENGES UNTIL TODAY;
1- Organized Catalogues (Commodity, Assemblies, Cost Codes, ..etc.)
2- Company specific requirements in estimation and control
3- Motivation of qualified engineers in the project (Real Life vs. System Development)
4- Resistance within the company
5- Limited 3D Revit Knowledge of new designers
