by David WaxmanSeattle Washington:A clinical study on a leading acid re ux pill shows that its key ingredient relieves digestive symp-toms while suppressing the in ammation that con-tributes to premature aging in men and women.
And, if consumer sales are any indication of a product’s e ectiveness, this ‘acid re ux pill turned anti-aging phenomenon’ is nothing short of a miracle.
Sold under the brand name AloeCure, it was already backed by clinical data documenting its ability to provide all day and night relief from heartburn, acid re ux, constipation, irritable bow-el, gas, bloating, and more.
But soon doctors started reporting some incred-ible results…
“With AloeCure, my patients started reporting less joint pain, more energy, better sleep, stronger immune systems… even less stress and better skin, hair, and nails” explains Dr. Liza Leal; a leading integrative health specialist and company spokes-person.
AloeCure contains an active ingredient that helps improve digestion by acting as a natural acid-bu er that improves the pH balance of your stomach.
Scientists now believe that this acid imbal-ance is what contributes to painful in ammation throughout the rest of the body.
The daily allowance of AloeCure has shown to calm this in ammation which is why AloeCure is so e ective.
Relieving other stressful symptoms related to GI health like pain, bloating, fatigue, cramping, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, and nausea.
Now, backed with new clinical studies, Aloe-Cure is being recommended by doctors every-where to help improve digestion, calm painful in ammation, soothe joint pain, and even reduce the appearance of wrinkles – helping patients to look and feel decades younger.
FIX YOUR GUT & FIGHT INFLAMMATION
Since hitting the market, sales for AloeCure have taken o and there are some very good rea-sons why.
To start, the clinical studies have been impres-sive. Participants taking the active ingredient in AloeCure saw a stunning 100% improvement in digestive symptoms, which includes fast and last-ing relief from re ux.
Users also experienced higher energy levels and endurance, relief from chronic discomfort and better sleep. Some even reported healthier looking skin, hair, and nails.
A healthy gut is the key to a reducing swell-
ing and in ammation that can wreak havoc on the human body. Doctors say this is why AloeCure works on so many aspects of your health.
AloeCure’s active ingredient is made from the healing compound found in Aloe vera. It is both safe and healthy. There are also no known side e ects.
Scientists believe that it helps improve diges-tive and immune health by acting as a natural acid-bu er that improves the pH balance of your stomach.
Research has shown that this acid imbalance contributes to painful in ammation throughout your entire body and is why AloeCure seems to be so e ective.
EXCITING RESULTS FROM PATIENTSTo date over 5 million bottles of AloeCure have
been sold, and the community seeking non-phar-ma therapy for their GI health continues to grow.
According to Dr. Leal, her patients are ab-solutely thrilled with their results and are often shocked by how fast it works.
“For the rst time in years, they are free from concerns about their digestion and almost every other aspect of their health,” says Dr. Leal, “and I recommend it to everyone who wants to improve GI health without resorting to drugs, surgery, or OTC medications.”
“I was always in ‘indigestion hell.’ Doctors put me on all sorts of antacid remedies. Nothing worked. Dr. Leal recommended I try AloeCure. And something remarkable happened… Not only were all the issues I had with my stomach gone - completely gone – but I felt less joint pain and I was able to actually sleep through the night.”
With so much positive feedback, it’s easy to see why the community of believers is growing and sales for the new pill are soaring.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND ALOECUREAloeCure is a pill that’s taken just once daily.
The pill is small. Easy to swallow. There are no harmful side e ects and it does not require a pre-scription.
The active ingredient is a rare Aloe Vera com-ponent known as acemannan.
Made from of 100% organic Aloe Vera, Aloe-Cure uses a proprietary process that results in the highest quality, most bio-available levels of ace-mannan known to exist.
According to Dr. Leal and several of her col-leagues, improving the pH balance of your stomach and restoring gut health is the key to revitalizing your entire body.
When your digestive system isn’t healthy, it causes unwanted stress on your immune system,
which results in in ammation in the rest of the body.
The recommended daily allowance of ace-mannan in AloeCure has been proven to support digestive health, and calm painful in ammation without side e ects or drugs.
This would explain why so many users are ex-periencing impressive results so quickly.
REVITALIZE YOUR ENTIRE BODYWith daily use, AloeCure helps users look and
feel decades younger and defend against some of the painful in ammation that accompanies aging and can make life hard.
By bu ering stomach acid and restoring gut health, AloeCure calms painful in ammation and will help improve digestion… soothe aching joints… reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help restore hair and nails … manage cholester-ol and oxidative stress… and improve sleep and brain function… without side e ects or expense.
Readers can now reclaim their energy, vitali-ty, and youth regardless of age or current level of health.

ising temperatures are a goodindicator that Summer is here andthat means you and your family are
ready for some fun in the sun. While you areoutside camping, doing yard work or justrelaxing remember to think about safety.
If you’re working on a home improvementproject, power tools require special care.Because most power tools operate at highspeeds, when things happen, they tend tohappen very quickly. To avoid accidents, power tool operators must be knowledgeableand thoroughly prepared. Inexperienced, untrained, and unprepared operators can beinjured within minutes of attempting to usea power tool.
Don’t use any electric power tools nearwater or wet surfaces, and do not overloadoutlets with multiple tools.
Outdoor tools, such as ladders, shovels andeven paintbrushes with extendable arms, have the potential to be dangerous if usedimproperly. Pay attention to where you placemetal ladders or dig for fence posts. Beforeyou start any project, always look up andavoid overhead power lines. Keep a minimum
of 10 feet between you and overhead lines. Remember to call “811” before you start any
digging project to make sure the area you willbe working in is free of any undergroundpower lines or other buried cables.
Exploring the great outdoors is a wonderfulway to spend time with the family, but keepthe following safety tips in mind.
Children should never climb trees nearpower lines – always assume a wire is live.Fly drones and remote controlled-airplanesin large open areas like a park or a field, safely away from trees and overhead powerlines.
Planning to take the family for a swim inthe pool? Electrical devices, such as stereos, should be kept at least 10 feet away fromwater sources, and outdoor electrical outletsshould always be covered. If you hear arumble of thunder, exit the pool right awayand go indoors.
These are just a few tips to rememberwhen you are spending time outdoors thissummer with your family. Be sure to havefun out there, and always keep safety inmind!

he home of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody provides alook into the life and career of the famed PonyExpress rider, Army scout and buffalo hunter-

served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Followingthe war, Cody began buffalo hunting to feed constructioncrews building railroads, which would give him thenickname that would define him forever. His ownassessment puts the number of buffalo he killed at 4,280,in just over a year and a half.
Cody returned to his work for the Army as chief of scoutsin 1868. His ongoing work with the military garnered himthe Congressional Medal of Honor in 1872, which wasstripped and then reinstated. He became something of anational folk hero due to the dime-novel exploits of his alterego, “Buffalo Bill.” In late 1872, Cody went to Chicago tomake his stage debut in The Scouts of the Prairie, one ofNed Buntline’s original Wild West shows. Buntline wasalso the author of the Buffalo Bill novels. The followingyear, “Wild Bill” Hickok joined the show, and the troupetoured for ten years.
In 1883, Cody founded his own show, “Buffalo Bill’s Wild

West,” a circus-like extravaganza that toured widely forthree decades in the United States and later in Europe.Besides Buffalo Bill himself, the Wild West show starredsharpshooter Annie Oakley and, for one run, Chief SittingBull.
By the mid-1880s, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show was infull swing, touring the United States and Europe. Thesuccess of the show enabled Cody to build “The Mansionon the Prairie.” The Second Empire-style house, withEastlake and Italianate features, was the largest house inNorth Platte in the late 19th Century. It was built andfurnished at a cost of $3,900. It sits in its original positionon the grounds. Cody requested design features such ascabinets, closets and storage space in the house. Eventhough he helped design the house, his sister actuallyoversaw its construction.
The back end addition was added in 1909, when the restof the house was updated with forced-air heating, electricity and other amenities. It was Buffalo Bill’s homefrom 1886 to 1913. He raised cattle and purebred stallionson his 4,000 acres of land. A large barn was built in 1887to house Cody’s ranch horses and stallions. The barn, alongwith several outbuildings, has also been preserved andfilled with memorabilia from Cody’s days as a performer,as well as artifacts of ranch life.
The mansion was built when Cody’s Wild West Show wasdrawing huge crowds, and money for development of theranch and Cody’s other interests was plentiful. No expensewas spared in building and furnishing the ranch.
In 1911, Scout’s Rest Ranch was sold to Major (PawneeBill) Lillie for $100,000. In February 1913, the ranch was
sold to James M. Hamilton of Chester, PA. Cody and hisfamily stayed at the ranch until 1913.
Cody made a fortune from his show business success andlost it to mismanagement and investments in variousschemes. In the end, even the Wild West show itself waslost to creditors. Cody died on January 10, 1917, and isburied in a tomb blasted from solid rock at the summit ofLookout Mountain near Denver, Colorado.
The house was purchased by the Nebraska Game andParks Commission in 1964 as part of the process formaking Scout's Rest Ranch a State Historical Park, BuffaloBill Ranch State Historical Park. A Lincoln CountyHistorical Society was organized to help raise money forthe purchase of Buffalo Bill Cody's house. Since 1964, theState Historical Park has been open to the public.

Do you get discouraged when you hear your telephone ring? Do you avoid using your phone because hearing difficulties make it hard to understand the person on the other end of the line? For many Americans the telephone conversation – once an important part of everyday life – has become a thing of the past. Because they can’t understand what is said to them on the phone, they’re often cut off from friends, family, doctors and caregivers. Now, thanks to innovative technology there is finally a better way.
A simple idea… made possible with sophisticated technology. If you have trouble understanding a call, captioned telephone can change your life. During a phone call the words spoken to you appear on the phone’s screen – similar to closed captioning on TV. So when you make or receive a call, the words spoken to you are not only amplified by the phone, but scroll across the phone so you can listen while reading what’s said to you. Each call is routed through a call center, where computer technology – aided by a live representative – generates voice-to-text translations. The captioning is real-time, accurate and readable. Your conversation is private. Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) is regulated and funded by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and is designed exclusively for individuals with hearing loss. To learn more, visit www.fcc.gov. The Hamilton CapTel phone requires telephone service and high-speed Internet access.
WiFi Capable. Callers do not need special equipment or a captioned telephone in order to speak with you.
Finally… a phone you can use again. The Hamilton CapTel phone is also packed with features to help make phone calls easier. The keypad has large, easy to use buttons. You get adjustable volume amplification along with the ability to save captions for review later. It even has an answering machine that provides you with the captions of each message.
See for yourself with our exclusive home trial. Try a captioned telephone in your own home and if you are not completely amazed, simply return it within 60-days for a refund of the product purchase price. It even comes with a 5-year warranty.
The Captioned Telephone is intended for use by people with hearing loss. SAFETY BRIEFS
How to safely tackle home projectshen contemplating buildingprojects, contractors andDIYers alike focus on
factors such as budget, scheduling andmaterials. Another importantconsideration before starting work onany project – from renovating a mainliving area to expanding a bathroomor transforming your outdoor space –is safety.
While having properly functioningtools is crucial to completing projectsboth big and small, proper handlingand transportation of power tools andbatteries can sometimes beoverlooked. Due to their efficiency, energy storage capabilities, convenience and durability, lithium-ion battery-powered tools are apopular choice for taking care of tasklists of all sizes, but must be handledcorrectly.
With members representingportable and stationary power toolbrands, the experts at the Power ToolInstitute – the leading organizationfor power tool safety resources, information and education –recommend these tips for safe use, storage, transportation and disposal oflithium-ion batteries.
Use: • The higher energy potential andsmall size of lithium-ion batteriesmakes them ideal for cordless powertools but also pose additional safetyrisks when misused. • Batteries are not interchangeable,so it’s important to only use batteriesand chargers from the original powertool manufacturer. • Original manufacturer batteriesare engineered to communicate andwork with specific tools and chargers. These components go through arigorous certification and testingprocess. Third-party batteries are notalways held to the same standard, andcan pose fire, property damage orpersonal injury risks. • Never modify, disassemble ortamper with a battery. Theperformance of damaged or modifiedbatteries can be unpredictable anddangerous. • If a lithium-ion battery isdamaged, contact the manufacturerbefore use.
Storage and Transportation: • Inspect batteries regularly forsigns of damage, such as crushing,
cuts or punctures. • Store your battery in a cool, dryplace, away from combustible andflammable items. • Avoid contact with metal objects, such as keys, coins, screws and nails. • Always transport and storelithium-ion batteries as instructed inthe owner’s manual.
Disposal: • Throwing a lithium-ion battery inthe trash or municipal recycling canbe a fire hazard. • Safely dispose of used or damagedlithium-ion batteries by taking themto a local battery recycling center orplacing them in a receptacle speciallydesigned for recycling batteries.

Getting the power
by Maria Kavensky
July 2019 15
Powering up after an outage starts on a larger leveland ends up in local areas. First, high-voltagetransmission lines are examined, then distributionstations, then main distribution lines. If the outagecan’t be pinpointed to these areas, tap lines andindividual homes are inspected. This process allowsyour utility to efficiently help the most members inthe shortest amount of time, and they are workingto make this process move even faster.
One of the biggest advancements in technologythat electric utilities are using is Advanced MeteringInfrastructure (AMI). These smart meters allow fortwo-way communications and work by sendinginformation back to the electric utility’s operationscenter. This helps to distinguish between events thataffect a single home or multiple outages, which isimportant because solving either issue is a verydifferent process. The two-way communication alsoprovides a way to verify that power has beenrestored after an outage.
Another technology is the Outage ManagementSystem (OMS), which can predict the location of theissue and how many consumers are impacted.Especially when used with the AMI system, the OMScan be extremely useful for a utility’s effectivenessin resolving an outage. As the AMI collects and sendsdata, the OMS then analyzes the data usingmathematical functions and models the electricalnetwork to assess the impact of the outage. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is another
technology used to manage power outages.Consumers can easily and quickly report an outageby entering their phone number or location, which isrecorded onto an electronic map used bydispatchers. After service has been restored, thesystem can also make follow-up calls to consumersto confirm that the power is back on.
One technology is even capable of predictingoutages before they happen. Distribution FaultAnticipation (DFA) technology was developed byresearchers at Texas A&M University and is used byPedernales Electric Cooperative in Texas. This systemcan detect tree branches hanging on power lines, damaged equipment and unusual, unrecognizedevents. By identifying these issues, the electric utilitycan more efficiently dispatch crews, avoid wildfiresand prevent outages before they happen.
One of the major benefits from improvedtechnologies, especially for outages caused byextreme weather, is understanding where theoutages are located, which helps to reduce risk forcrews out on the road during the weather events.
These technologies clearly benefit public powerdistricts and electric co-ops and the consumers theyserve. Power outages are inevitable, but astechnology continues to improve, disruptions arebecoming shorter and easier to resolve.

e love our pets, and we lovesaving energy! This month,
we’re taking a look at three commonenergy efficiency questions from petowners.
Q: We’ve thought about installinga pet door. Will this impact myenergy bill?A: Pet doors are convenient for petowners and pets, but they can impactenergy bills. A pet door that is poorlymade or improperly installed willcreate unwanted drafts that increaseenergy bills and reduce the overallcomfort level of your home. Thewrong type of door may also bepushed open during high winds.
Consider installing a pet door thatis certified by the Alliance to SaveEnergy (ASE) or has a double ortriple flap. These types of pet doorscan reduce energy loss and make lifeeasier for you and your furry friends.
The best solution may be a high-quality electronic door that isactivated by a chip on your pet’scollar.
It’s difficult to undo a pet doorinstallation, so before taking theleap, we suggest doing yourhomework. There may be otherstrategies that will give you and yourpet some of the convenient benefitswithout the downsides.
Q: To save energy, we keep ourhome cool during winter nightsand warm during summer days. How much “hot and cold” canour pup and tabby handle?A: Cats and dogs can handle the coldbetter than humans. The U.S.Department of Agriculture (USDA),which regulates facilities that housecats and dogs, requires thesefacilities to maintain temperaturesabove 50 F. Some exceptions are
allowed for breeds accustomed to thecold or if some form of insulation forthe animals is provided. Your pet’stolerance really depends on theirbreed and the thickness of their coat.
A report by the Purdue Center forAnimal Science says that Siberianhuskies can tolerate temperaturesbelow freezing, but some short-haired dogs require temperatures of59 F or higher. Older animals mayrequire warmer temperatures thanyounger ones.
During summer, cats and dogshandle the heat in different ways.Cats clearly enjoy warmertemperatures than dogs, and they doa good job of reducing their activitylevel as temperatures climb. Butboth cats and dogs can getoverheated. The USDA says thatroom temperatures in facilitieshousing dogs or cats should notexceed 85 F for more than 4 hours ata time.
Q: Is it okay if my cat or my dogsleeps in the garage overnight?A: USDA rules suggest this shouldbe fine if your garage temperaturestays between 50 F and 85 F. Petsmight be able to handle a lowertemperature if they have a warm, insulated bed.
I do not recommend heating orcooling your garage for your pet. Thiscould lead to extremely high energybills, which makes sense because anuninsulated but heated garage couldeasily cost more to heat than a home.A better solution is a heated pethouse, which you can purchase frommultiple retailers. If you’re willing tospend a little more, you can even findclimate-controlled pet houses thatinclude heating and cooling options.
You can also purchase heated bedsfor cats and dogs. Some beds use aslittle as four watts of electricity, sothey won’t drain your energy bill.
We hope these tips will be helpfulas you work at saving energy whilecaring for your favorite furry friend!

Introducing the future of personal
transportation.
More and more Americans are reaching the age where mobility is an everyday concern. Whether from an injury or from the aches and pains that come from getting older– getting around isn’t as easy as it used to be. You may have tried a power chair or a scooter. The Zinger is NOT a power chair or a scooter! The Zinger is quick and nimble, yet it is not prone to tipping like many scooters. Best of all, it weighs only 47.2 pounds and folds and unfolds with ease. You can take it almost anywhere, providing you with independence and freedom.
Years of work by innovative engineers have resulted in a mobility device that’s truly unique. They created a battery that provides powerful energy at a fraction of the weight of most batteries. The Zinger features two steering levers, one on either side of the seat. The user pushes both levers down to go forward, pulls them both up to brake, and pushes one while pulling the other to turn to either side. This enables great mobility, the ability to turn on a dime and to pull right up to tables or desks. The controls are right on the steering
lever so it’s simple to operate and its exclusive footrest swings out of the way when you stand up or sit down. With its rugged yet lightweight aluminum frame, the Zinger is sturdy and durable yet convenient and comfortable! What’s more, it easily folds up for storage in a car seat or trunk– you can even gate-check it at the airport like a stroller. Think about it, you can take your Zinger almost anywhere, so you don’t have to let mobility issues rule your life. It folds in seconds without tools and is safe and reliable. It holds up to 275 pounds, and it goes up to 6 mph and operates for up to 8 hours on a single charge.
Why spend another day letting mobility issues hamper your independence and quality of life?

here’s no time like a hotsummer picnic to let yourpatriotic spirit show.
Watermelon is a patriotic picnicstaple for countless reasons, not theleast of which is that it’s a belovedtreat that many people associatewith memories from childhood. However, nostalgia isn’t the onlyreason adults are just as likely togravitate toward watermelon at asummer event. Its sweet, cool andrefreshing flavor also makes it afavorite for all ages.
From a practical standpoint, watermelon is also quite portable, versatile and easy to serve, and witha composition of 92 percent water,it’s a simple way to sneak in someextra hydration on a hot day.Another benefit is its value;watermelon is one of the best valuesin the produce section among fruit, and just one watermelon can feed upto three dozen people.
