The more flexible putty knife worked well here.

Careful so you don’t damage the deck gelcoat. Wipe with alcohol for final clean up.

alcohol seems to dissolve the bedding compound without being too toxic

Some of the corrosion “tunneled” and took more determined digging to get out.

hung up and taped for painting

about 4 screws were removed at a time and big screwdrivers used to hold the joint open

notice I am making sure to get both the top and bottom surfaces

then wiped with alcohol soaked rag and allowed to dry

let there be light (and a clean joint)

5200 is injected into the gap and screws re-installed before continuing down the line

It takes two to get this done one to push into place while the other installs screws

last one is the hardest
