Airport Air-ground Communication Service→ Remote Air-ground Communication Service
As of April 1, 2015
Remote Air-ground Communication Service was introduced in 1974. (40years experience)
Airport Air-ground Communication Service was migrated to Remote Air-ground Communication Service at 11 airports ( ) since 2002.
Under consideration with the aim of future further efficiency. Fukui in 2006

BenefitsSince 2002, JCAB changed Airport Air-ground Communication Service to Remote Air-ground Communication Service at 11 airports taking account primarily the safety.
〈Benefit〉・The reduction of the staff is possible. (It brings reduction of staffing cost)・Overall maintenance costs are less expensive
〈Weak point〉・Air to ground communication may not be available. There is not a substitute of the air to ground communication in R/AFIS.
