Remington Outdoor Foundation and International Hunter Education Association team up to produce a new firearm training setA new firearm training set produced by Remington Outdoor Foundation and the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) allows instructors to provide students with training that is hands-on and safe.
“The five firearms in this set include every action covered in IHEA’s curriculum. Plus, they are completely disabled so they cannot discharge,” said Tim Lawhern, president of IHEA. “This allows students to learn by doing with a tool that simulates an actual firearm in every way except for live fire.”
Every firearm in the set — the Remington 870 pump action shotgun, Remington 11-87 semi-auto shotgun, Marlin bolt action .22, Marlin lever action centerfire 30/30, and the H&R single barrel break action — features a blaze orange stock that is laser engraved with the IHEA and Remington Outdoor Foundation logos. These durable, high quality firearms are powder coated to make the metal parts resistant to rust and other elements.
A wheeled gun case is also available, allowing instructors to easily transport the firearms training set.
“We can’t thank Remington Outdoor Foundation enough for helping us design and produce the firearm training set,” said Lawhern. “This is the finest training aid ever developed for hunter education and firearms training. It will take IHEA’s safety training to a whole new level, helping us ensure students graduating hunter safety courses in 2010 and beyond are the safest hunters yet.”
The firearm training set is ideal for IHEA as well as for law enforcement instructors and those who offer safety training at events introducing youth, women and others to hunting and target shooting.
