ERFC focus on ppPp Model
ERFC assumed with the agreenment of REMIDA’s Partners to implement the following activities under
WP5
to identify the role of ESCOs in the MED Countries of REMIDA and their status (opportunities/challenges)
to identify best practices in ppPp schemes across Europe through Public Consultation and the
organization of an International Conference in Greece
to produce the guidelines of the ppPp schemes and implement a study on ppPp schemes process and
social innovation 2

Implementation Model
• Public Consultation with the Stakeholders in the Financing of the Energy Efficiency Market: 1) ERFC communicated the ESCO’s questionnaire, Brief Description of REMIDA and Letter of Interest to REMIDA, 2) Establishment of communication through personal meetings, telephone, email and skype, and 3) The result of this procedure is the adoption of REMIDA ppPp principle with the signed Letters of Interests and Answers to REMIDA questionnaire.
• Public Consultation with the Municipalities in Greece: 1) ERFC communicated REMIDA info – package consisting of : a Brief Description, presentation of the ppPp model, a Letter of Interest and a template for the presentation of Best Practices, 2) Establishment of regular communication through personal contacts, telephone, email and skype. 3) The results of this procedure are: signed Letters of Interests and submission of Best Practices.
• ERFC has presented REMIDA to important events in Brussels and in the synergy event of the MED projects: GRASP and REPUBLIC MED in the Municipality of Piraeus on 12th of March 2015.

•Gunter Pauli: Initiator of Blue Economy Model defined the way to increase efficiency beyond logic by setting targets, defining strategies and inspiring children, because as Nelson Mandela told: <It always seems impossible until it’s done>, www.theblueeconomy.org/blue/Home.html.
•Karel Derveaux from Ecopower: defined the way that the Energy Cooperatives in Europe develop, finance and build RES with connected EE projects, facilitate citizens and local authorities to invest in RES and EE, set up dedicating RES and EE financing structures for REScoops and local authorities, www.ecopower.be.
•Dirk Knapen from REScoop.be: mentioned that citizens in Europe claim the Common and Public goods, Energy Cooperatives and Sustainable energy can support the development of Greece through the reduction of energy cost, Cooperative green energy suppliers all over Europe linking green energy producers with customers, www.rescoop.be.

•Søren Hermansen from Energy Academy, Samsø Denmark: presented how citizens developed the business model of Samsø, which changed the business as usual to energy independence with democracy in decision making and the development of a local economy, CO2 neutral, and with more jobs, energiakademiet.dk.
•Goran Jeras from EBANKA: presented how the model of ethical banking in Croatia will support investments with more than financial return – clear social mission, how citizens take democratic decisions about the direction of economic development with their money, http://ebanka.eu/.
•Vanessa Sanson from Informest: presented the transition roadmap from public – private – partnerships (ppp model) to public – private – people partnerships (ppPp model), www.informest.it.

•We, the European Citizens attending the REMIDA Athens
conference 31/3/2015 declare that:
We are ready to co-operate in reducing energy costs by using energy
in the most efficient way and by producing and consuming energy from
renewable sources. We are ready to renounce to the use of fossil and
nuclear fuels that we consider posing a mayor threat to future
generations.
We call upon companies, public authorities and organizations to
follow suit.

We call upon academia & research centers, to enable implementation
through research and development and by guiding communities in the
transition to a sustainable energy supply in the hands of citizens.
We call upon NGOs and intellectuals to raise awareness and support
society to participate and engage in ppPp 4 SNRG
We call upon local, regional & state, European and international
bodies, to co-operate with citizens to form partnerships that will allow
energy cost reduction for all. Regulatory, legal and financial
arrangements facilitating the transition should be made available.

reducing energy costs, by supporting the appropriate legal framework

We support, participate and encourage the enhancement of existing
and the creation of new citizen- based sustainable energy co-
operatives.
