A jack-up rig is the mobileplatform able to stand still on thesea bottom and rest on a number
of supporting legs.Drilling platforms
This type of rig is commonly usedin oil and natural gas drilling.
Operation
A jack-up is a floating barge fitswith long support legs that can
be raised or lowered.Upon arrival at the work location, the legs are jacked down onto the
sea bottom. Then preloadingtakes place, where the weightof the barge and additionalballast water drive the legssecurely into the sea bottom sothey will not penetrate furtherwhile operations are carried out. After preloading, the jackingsystem is used to raise the entirebarge above the sea water to apredetermined height or air
gap.Modern jacking systems use arack and pinion gear solution
where the pinion gears are drivenby hydraulic or electric motorsand the rack is affixed to the legs.

A semi submersible is a speciali-zed marine vessel with good sta-bility and sea-keeping characte-
ristics.Characteristics
Offshore drilling in more than120 meters depth requires theoperations to be done from a flo-ating vessel.A semi-submersible obtains itsbuoyancy from the ballasted, wa-tertight pontoons located belowthe ocean surface and sea waves. With its hull structure submer-ged at a deep draft, the semi-submersible is less affected bywave loadings.
Mobile Offshore Drilling Units(MODU)
Semi-submersible rigs makestable platforms for drilling in of-fshore oil and gas industry. Theycan be towed into position by atugboat and anchored, or movedand kept in position by their ownazipod propellers with dynamicpositioning.

An oil platform is a large structurewith facilities to drill wells, to extractand process oil and natural gas, for
temporarily storage.Depending on the circumstances, the platform may be fixed to thesea bottom, or include an artificialisland, or in the sea motion.
Semi-submersible platform
These platforms have hulls (columnsand pontoons) of sufficient buoyancyto cause the structure to float.Semi-submersible platforms canbe moved from place to place; canbe ballasted up or down by alteringthe amount of flooding in buoyancytanks; they are generally anchoredby combinations of chain, wire ropeand polyester rope, or both, duringdrilling or production operations.

FPSO - Floating, Production,Storage, and Offloading
The floating, production, storageand offloading (FPSO) unit is afloating vessel used by offshoreindustry for the processing ofhydrocarbons and for storage ofoil until it can be offloaded ontoa tanker or transported througha pipelineThese units are moored to alocation for extended periods, and do not actually drill for oil orgas.
Advantages
FPSOs eliminate the need tolay expensive long-distancepipelines from the oil well to anonshore terminal. They can also be usedeconomically in smaller oilfields; once the field is depleted, the FPSO can be moved to a newlocation.

Our equipment
To off-load the oil through the hose, the tanker must remain permanentlymoored to the FPSO with the fixed distance and loads free on the hose. Thehawser winch keeps the tanker in position during the offloading operation.
The hawser winch is equipped with a quick release mooring permitting which,in case of emergency, the tanker departs without influence from the FPSO.
Remazel supply complete tandem mooring system to FPSO.
Tandem Mooring System
FPSO are permanently moored on the oil wells using different methods.Spread mooring: the vessel is moored by a set of mooring lines at eachvessel end.
Turret mooring: the vessel can rotate around a moored turret (internalor external from the hull). The ends of the mooring lines consist of large
diameter steel chains anchored in the sea bottom, reach the vessel ends or theturret where are locked in tension by means of suitable chain stoppers. The
tensioning of the chains is made of hydraulic chain windlasses or chain jacks.Remazel design and manufacture complete mooring systems for floating units.

The fireline, ie the actual launch line of the pipeline, consists of track chainsand rollers. The track chain are installed in the initial part of the fireline;
they are used to support the pipe in the route between tensioners and piperollers. Track chains are normally divided in three separate independent units.
Independent load cells are integrated in each unit to monitor the pipe load.

Our equipment
To prepare the pipes for welding, the ends of the pipes are beveled to makethem exactly the right shape to be fit together. Remazel supply bevelling
machines, available for pipe diameter between 6 and 60 inches.
Bevelling
To prepare welding process, the pipes must be perfectly aligned. The internalline-up clamp (ILUC) is designed specifically for the line-up and centering
of the pipeline. Remazel supply ILUC machines available for pipe diameterbetween 6 and 60 inches.
Pipe Centering and Allignment
Due to the movements of the ILUC inside the pipeline, an umbilical hose, feeding compressed air and power, must follow the ILUC movements. ILUCwinch un-wind and re-wind around its drum the umbilical serving the ILUC.
Remazel design, manufacture and upgrade ILUC winches.

Once the pipeline string has been entirely launched, it must be pulled onshore with an onshore anchored linearwinch. The pipeline string is laid in a trench, which will be backfilled up to the initial seabed level.
SHORE APPROACH
Our equipment
The linear winch (Tirfor), with self-gripping jaws, moves wire through thewinch. It is used mainly for laying of pipelines via the beach pull method forpipe diameters ranging from 6 inch to 60 inch. Remazel has designed linear
winches up to 500 ton pull capacity.
Linear Winch
Normally the winch pull capacity reaches 250- 500 ton. In case of higher loadit is possible to use a specific sheave arrangement permitting to double the
pulling force and reduce the speed.

The traction winch, as defined in marine deep water applications, is theprimary component of a system designed to provide a significant tractive orload-bearing effort to subsea cable. As operating depths and related cable
lengths are increasing, traction winch systems are particularly attractive asthese operating parameters complicate. Remazel design and manufacture awide range of double capstan traction winches up to 750 ton.
Traction Winch
The deviation of the ropes coming from the winch is achieved by the installationof sheaves, vertical, horizontal or oblique, while the final address to the sea
is often performed by fairleads with horizontal axis. The sheaves, whosepitch diameter must accommodate the type of working rope, can be equipped
with instruments to measure the load and speed. The fairlead provides theorientation of the end of the ropes to the sea. Remazel design and manufacture
sheaves and fairleaders ranging from 50 to 1000 ton.

Auxiliary winches can be used forvarious purposes to pull a load. Inparticular in offshore field it haslarge range of application. Exampleof the usage are the spooling winch
providing the back tension duringthe winding of a wire rope on a drum,or the hold back winches preventingthe fall of a load.
Auxiliary Winch
The DMA winch works for deployment and recovery of dead man anchors andrelated testings. Once the wire, initially stored on the DMA Winch Drum, is
fully paid out, it may be required to add an extra wire section. In this case aparticular drum design is required. In order to speed up the DMA deployment
operations, the DMA Winch is capable to pay out at fast speed when the wireis not loaded. Remazel design and manufacture this particular units for ultradeep water operations.
Dead Man Anchor Winch
To perform underwater work, it is often necessary to equip the vessels withspecial equipments. For example, in case of major upheavals, whose weightexceeds the maximum pulling capacity of the winch installed on the vessel,
a reeving system can be equipped with an integrated swiveling load hook.Remazel design and manufacture the subsea hooks up to 800 tons.
Sub-sea Hooks and Tools
The spooling of a wire rope on a drum needs constant tensions to apply to therope a suitable tension to avoid the premature wear of the rope. The spoolingwinches are machines designed to maintain the back tension during the rope
spooling. Remazel design and manufacture spooling winches covering a largerange of reel dimensions.
