Religion is virtually universal among humans and crucially affects our present. Understanding religion involves grasping both its reality in the

lives of participants, and the critical analysis of outside observers.

The Programme in Religious Studies at Dalhousie University serves students wishing to enhance their understanding of religion as a human fact, as well as those who wish to wrestle with problems arising in academic reflection.

We offer a wide range of classes including European, Near Eastern, South Asian and East Asian traditions, and emphasize particularly the relationship between religion, philosophy and mysticism.

A variety of undergraduate degree options are available within the Programme in Religious Studies at Dalhousie, including Major, Double Major, Minor, Combined Honours and Concentration degrees.

All classes listed here will be offered in the 2012-13 academic year.
