Further to previous correspondence in the above matter:-
1. With reference to the second paragraph of your memorandumdated 26th October 1979 I do not have any information concerning possible disposal of the hatched green area, butthere is no trace of the previous Coulsdon and Purley filerelating to the conveyance dated 7th October 1930.
2. I sent you a copy of my letter dated 14th November 1979sent to the Croydon District Land Registry and I now enclosefor your file a copy of the Registrar's reply dated 4thJanuary 1980.
3. I also enclose for your file,:-
(a) Copy supplemental abstract of Title relating to No.3The Rise.
(b) Copy copy conveyance dated 24th April 1953 relatingto No. 5 The Rise.
(c) Copy conveyance dated 14th May 1952 relating to No. 3The Rise.
(d) Copy supplementary abstract of Title relating to No.5The Rise.
4. To take the matter further it seems to me that the Corporationshould have a reply to the penultimate paragraph of the letterfrom the Croydon District I.and Registry, and one such approachmight be to suggest that the natural boundary of theCorporation's land ought to have been the continuation of therear boundaries of Nos. 70/82 Foxearth Road, but an approachought to be made to Richard Costain Limited, but then thequestion which would certainly need to be answored was "whyhas the Corporation allowed such a considerable period oftime to elapse before realising that the land shown as ownedby the Corporation in the relevant conveyance was in fact notbeing occupied by the Corporation".
5. It might be relevant to know what you would consider the valueof the pieces of land coloured pink hatched colour blue hatchedand coloured yellow hatched, to consider whether it is worthwhile pursuing this matter further.
6. Perhaps after you have perused this memorandum and enclosuresMr. Davis could be in touch with Mr. Abbot so that the mattercan be further discussed.

With reference to your letter of the 14 November the delay in replying is regretted,but as you will appreciate some investigation was called for.
The land coloured pink, coloured blue and coloured yello� to which your letter refers is registered as stated in the search of the Index Map. The dates of registration are respectively 19 May 1953 (sy91150), 13 March 1972 (SGL138110) and 24 May 1952 (SY73115). A copy of the deed inducing registration of title SY91150 and of an Abstract of the conyeyance referred to therein are enclosed as are a copy of the deed inducing registration of title SY7311S a.-rid the earlier abstract of that title. As to title SGLl38110 the transferees under the deed inducing registration are still the registered proprieto1 and their consent will be necessary l:_-,efore a copy of the deed can be issued. However, the deed was a transfer under Rule 72 of the Land Registration Rules and transferred the land comprised in a Conveyance dated 25 April 1934 made between Richard Costain Limited and

Dear Sir, Greater London South - Land between 68 and 70 Foxearth Road, Selsdon (Coppice in Foxearth Road)
Thank you for your certificate of result of an Official Search dated 2nd November, 1979 (Form 81C) a copy of which I enclose (but the drawing is uncoloured) for your information.
The pieces of land in which 1 am particularly interested are the pieces coloured pink, coloured blue, and coloured yellow as referred to on page 2 of the enclosed copy certificate.
The three s�all pieces of land as referred to above are in fact comprised (together with other land) in a Conveyance made the 7th October, 1930 between Richard Coetain and Sons Limited (1) Maud May Costain (2) and the Urban District Council o� Coulsdon and Purley (3 ) (a predecessor of the Corporation), and I also enclose a copy of that Conveyance and there is a further assurance dated 11th March, 1933 which is endorsed on the original Conveyance and which is likewise shown on the enclosed photographic copy. The enclosed photographic copy Conveyance is on a photographically reduced scale and accordingly I enclose a drawing numbered 1 which is the relevant drawing applic.lble to the plan shown on page l 0£ the copy Conveyance and a plan numbered 6 which is the relevant plan to the photograph plan shown on page 6, and I should be glad if when you reply to this letter you would kindly return the enclosed two original small plans.
Accordingly, ahe purpose of this letter is i-
(1) to enquire of you whether you would be prepared to furnish me witha copy of each of the docwaents which induced :first registrationto the three small pieces o:f land coloured pink, coloured blue andcoloured yellow, so that the Corporation can consider the position and
