No storage of firmware on SPCX410 Fast Programmer IMPORTANT This firmware cannot be stored on SPCX410 Fast Programmer with 1 MB
memory due to file size. Download only via Web-Browser or SPC Pro.
No direct upgrade possible for firmware versions 2.0.x or older GENERAL The direct upgrade from firmware version 2.0.x (or older) to V3.x is not
possible. In this case it’s necessary to upgrade to V2.1.x first.
Note: The firmware can be found on product CD in the same folder as the V3.x firmware release.
Note: When upgrading older panels with new firmware not all new SPC features are supported (see release note for V3.1.0)
SPC Pro (PC Programming Software) requirements GENERAL This firmware is supported with SPCS310 SPC Pro release 3.2.0 or higher.

New confirmation mode EN50131-9 added NEW The following new attributes have been added to system setting options:
New confirmation mode “EN50131-9” (in addition to GARDA and DD243) to enable alarm confirmation according to EN50131-9.
New option “Confirmation Zones” in order to define the number of zone activations for confirmed alarm when confirmation mode “EN50131-9” is selected.
All
s Building Technologies Division: Security Products Page: 3 / 23 release_note_spc42xx43xx52xx53xx63xx_v3.2.2_en.doc
Default operation of confirmation mode “EN50131-9”:
In order to be considered a confirmed alarm there must be three activations (resp. as configured with “Confirmation Zones”), these activations can be either an open or a tamper condition. Therefore a single zone may supply two activations to the confirmation. The following activations will cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 2 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper, The following activations will NOT cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm
The alarm must be confirmed within 30 minutes in order to be considered a confirmed alarm. If an alarm is not confirmed within this 30 minute window, the zone will either be restored if it is closed or inhibited if it is open.
The activation of the following events (in addition to alarm and tamper) will also start a 30 minute timer and during this window any further alarm activations will be considered a confirmed alarm:
Modem fault
System tamper (e.g Bell tamper, Antenna tamper, Jamming, Cabinet tamper, Aux tamper, Aux 2 tamper, Xbus Tamper, Xbus communications)
In the case that the entry route zone has been inhibited a special entry procedure is enabled in order to prevent false alarms. The first alarm zone that is activated in the entry route is inhibited and this will start the entry timer.
Configuration:
Confirmation Mode “EN50131-9” can be selected in all Regions and all Grades.
If EN50131-9 is selected the “Confirmation Zones” can be changed from 2 to 10 (default = 3).
Exception for Spanish Region
For EN50131 grade 2: Three unique zones must be activated however the activation can be an alarm or tamper condition. The following activations will cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper,
s Building Technologies Division: Security Products Page: 4 / 23 release_note_spc42xx43xx52xx53xx63xx_v3.2.2_en.doc
The following activations will NOT cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 2 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm
For EN50131 grade 3: There must be three activations from 2 detectors and these activations can be of any type. Therefore a single zone may contribute two open conditions to the confirmation however a second zone must supply another alarm condition in order to be considered confirmed. The following activations will cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 2 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 alarm - ZONE 1 tamper + ZONE 2 tamper + ZONE 3 tamper - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 3 tamper, - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 2 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm The following activations will NOT cause a confirmed alarm (examples). - ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm + ZONE 1 alarm
New Menu Option “Failed to Set” added NEW In system status, a new menu, called Fail to Set, will appear when an area
that keypad and user has access to, has failed to set. The menu will list all areas that have failed to set. When the area is selected, the reason will be displayed.
All
Viewing of Inhibited, Isolated Zones or Zones in Soak Test NEW Additional functionality has been added to the keypads for bypassing zones
so that when zones are bypassed, a user can press the up or down arrow to view the zones that have been bypassed. This functionality will also be available for soak test, inhibits and isolates.
A new keypad soak menu option has also been added to the system status menu for both user and engineer. This menu will allow a user to view any zones on soak, but will not allow the user to un-soak or isolate the zones.
All
Multiple Input Activations are Logged 8 Times in a Set Period CHANGE The limit for multiple activations on the same input during the same SET
period has been increased from one to eight. This means that if an input activates multiple times during the same SET period, the maximum number of times that it will be recorded in the LOG and reported to a central station will be eight.
Note: There has been no change to the fire input so this will still only be logged and reported once.

Various alterations for EN50131 compliance CHANGE There has been a review of alert operation in order to comply with
EN50131-3:2009. This will affect prevention of setting and warning device operation prevent.
All
Antimask in Unset will now Cause Trouble by default CHANGE The event “ZONE masked” in the unset state will produce a trouble event by
default to comply with the EN50131 standard.
New default settings are:
Ireland: Antimask in Unset Disabled Antimask in Set Alarm
All other countries: Antimask in Unset Trouble Antimask in Set Alarm
All
ZONE Masking Latched CHANGE The “ZONE Masked” event is now latched. This means that if a “ZONE
Masked” event occurs, it will remain active until restored by a level 2 user.
The operation of the ZONE Masked output has changed so that the output will remain active until restored.
ZONE Masking will be logged by default. The number of log entries will not exceed 8 between arming periods.
For an EN50131 Grade 3 system a ZONE masked event will prevent arming so a user must force set or clear the alert in order to set the system
Change to Zone Attributes for Holdup and Tamper CHANGE Change to zone attributes so that tamper and hold up zones can now be
inhibited. All
Change to Operation of Line Fault Zone Type CHANGE Change to operation of line fault zone type so now follows the fault type:
SIA reports Modem Fault + Zone number
CID reports Telco 1 Fault + Zone number
Outputs turns on fault output
Activates the fault led on keypad
Raises as info on keypad not alarm.
All
Selectable User Rights for Seismic Test CHANGE Before this version there was no user rights to allow a user to start a
Seismic test. A user right was implemented as follows:
User right is available for Standard User and Manager
For Manager the option is set by default, for standard user the option is not set by default
Only affects a MANUAL test (from keypad). Users without this attribute will still cause a seismic test to initiate when setting an area if that is how the panel is configured.

Zone Alerts Display Changed on Keypad CHANGE When there was a zone alert on the system which was subsequently
cleared, the user could see the fault LED flashing on the Keypad. However, the menu View Alerts would only show the zone description and so the user had no way of seeing what the problem was.
The user can now use a “Toggle” key (the ‘*’ key) to view the alarm condition in the View Alerts menu.
For Example, if a tamper occurred on “Hall ZONE”, then on entering the View Alerts menu, the user will see “Hall ZONE”. Upon pressing the ‘*’ key, the keypad will display “Zone 3 <T>”.
In General, the Zone <Alert Type> is one of the following:
Alarm = A
Tamper = T
Trouble = TR
Masked = M
Post alarm = PAX
All
Random Test Call Times CHANGE Change to the time that automated test calls and test SMS were being sent.
SMS tests will be transmitted between 9:00am and 6:00pm. ARC test calls will be transmitted between 1:00am and 5:00am.
Previously the automated test calls were always done at 2:00am which could lead to a resending of test calls when receiver was busy when many panels transmit test calls at the same time.

Set / Unset with Prefix for Card Readers with PIN pad NEW
s Building Technologies Division: Security Products Page: 15 / 23 release_note_spc42xx43xx52xx53xx63xx_v3.2.2_en.doc
A new Door attribute “Setting Prefix” has been added to set/unset an area with a card reader using a prefix ‘*’ resp. ‘A’ or ‘#’ resp. ’B’. If enabled the area will be set (if reader is enabled and user rights are given) when keys ‘*’/‘A’ or ‘#’/’B’ are pressed before showing the card. This will work on readers with PIN pads which send a 10 for ‘*’/’A’ and 11 for ‘#’/B (e.g.Siemens PP500). Previously the set/unset of an area with a reader was only possible by presenting the card twice within a few seconds (double batching).
Note: Using “Setting Prefix” is superseding the double batching procedure to set/unset an area.
All
Different door modes depending on area setting state NEW New options have been added to change security level an area can be
accessed via door reader depending on the setting state of the area. E.g. during day (normally the area is unset) the users can present the card to open the door, but during night (area is set) the door requires Card + Pin to unset area / to open the door.
New System Options "Door Mode Set" and "Door Mode Unset" to define security level to open the door. - Default: Will act as defined at individual doors - Card + PIN: Will require Card + Pin - Card or Pin: Will require Card or Pin Note: The Card + PIN " or " Card or PIN " are superseding system wide the individual door setting options "Card + PIN", "Pin only", "PIN or Card", "Pin to Exit", if area is set resp. unset.
New system option "Override Reader Profile" to indicate required actions from or confirmations to the user via the reader LED’s: - No LED indication in idle state (independent if area is set or unset) - Fast flashing green LED when system expects the 2nd identification - If the user tries to set via reader the RED Led is permanently on for 10 sec. if area could be successfully set resp. RED Led is flashing for 10sec. if area could not be set for any reason. Note: This setting supersedes individual door setting options “LED Reader Profiles”. The status indication is optimized for readers with 2 individually controllable LED’s (e.g. Siemens PP500).
All
Additional Card Reader Profiles for HID Readers NEW Additional Card Reader profiles “Profile 3 [PIN/Site 0]” and “Profile 4
[PIN/Site 0]” have been added to the door expander options. This is to support the PIN pad option of HID readers that send the PIN to the panel as a special card read with predefined site code.
Note: To support this feature the 2-door expander in SPCA210, SPCP432 or SPCP433 requires firmware version 1.6 or higher
