and Dan Van Gorp attended, and reported on the sessions. 2. IASB ABLE II - Hickman attended. Felt that the information presented was good. 3. Governor's Forum - Iowa Learns Council - Superintendent Spears and Kathy Brock attended.

VI. REPORTS A. Committee – none B. Special - 1. FY 04 Independent Audit Report - Susan Battani from the State Auditors Office reviewed the

report with the Board. At 8:19 p.m. President Van Gorp announced there would be a short break. At 8:26 p.m. President Van Gorp reconvened the meeting. 2. School District Educational Program Report - The Superintendent introduced the program, and

explained how the District has progressed. The Building Principals presented an overview of the program.

C. Administrators 1. Elementary School – Mrs. McCrory reviewed the report, and spoke of the PALS program with

the FFA. 2. Middle School – Mrs. Barwick reviewed the report. The Smart Board has been installed. 3. High School – Mr. Mueting reviewed the report. 4. Activities Director - Mr. Sneiderman reviewed the District extra-curricular activities. 5. Superintendent a. PPEL Election Results - The vote failed. The final count was 503 for and 537 against. b. 2005-06 School Calendar Information - Superintendent reviewed the results of the parent

survey with the Board. c. City of Sheldon Recreation Study Update - Scott Wynja said that FEH Associates has been

hired as the architect to complete a feasibility study/site location. The cost of the study will be about $15,000, and hope to share the cost with both NCC and SCSD.

VII. OLD BUSINESS A. Board Policy Review - Motion by Gary Ihnen and seconded by Mark Brown to approve policies

with the policy review schedule to remain at every three years, and the facility policy to use the alternate option, effective December 13, 2004. Motion by Kathy Brock and seconded by Kecia Hickman to amend the effective date of the facility usage option to be January 1, 2005. Moss, Brygger & Associates Architects and Superintendent Spears will adjust the bid dates, according to the publication of the request for bids based on the specs. The specs will be to level the grounds, remove the asphalt, and have a seeded lot with a sidewalk around the outside. The alternate bid will be to leave the gym, and some trees. Motion by Kathy Brock and seconded by Mark Brown to approve the demolition specifications. Roll call vote: Gary Ihnen, Aye;
