About University :
In order to provide new avenues of higher
education to the tribal dominated population of North
Maharashtra region, the Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari
North Maharashtra University (Formerly known as North th
Maharashtra University) was established on 15 August,
1990 at Jalgaon. In the short span of 28 years, university
has bagged many accolades of honor and achievements.
The university campus is situated on the bank of river,
“Girna” and this beautiful campus is spread over hilly
terrain of approx. 625+ acres. The University is almost 10
Km. away from Jalgaon city. The pollution free hilly terrain
has augmented the academic ambience of the campus,
making it one of the ideal places for taking higher
education. Considering the requirements, the university
campus is equipped with modern facilities and amenities.
The potential of the emerging trends in various fields of
Science and Technology were rightly tapped by the
university from time to time till date and different curricula
are/were imparted through 16 Academic Schools and
Departments. University is making heavy use of modern
technologies in functioning of academic administration
too. Though the academia on the campus is engaged in
doing high quality research in frontier areas of Science and
Technology, we still firmly believe that our research and
technology will make sense, only if these are applicable in
real life in user friendly way . In this regard, the university
has undertaken two ambitious projects, “Lab-to-Land” and
“Lab to Industry”. The University was awarded 'A' Grade
with 3.11 CGPA in 3rd Cycle re-accreditation in year 2015
by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),
Bangalore. We are committed to provide high quality
education to our students. This is an attempt to make our
country a true super power as envisioned by the father of
nation late Mahatma Gandhi and Ex-president of the
country late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam .
Intellectual property means the property
represented by the product emanating from creativity of
the human mind, human intellect and creative ideas. It
can be an invention, original design, trademarks, artistic
creation, etc. In earlier times, only physical or tangible
assets like movable and immovable properties fetched the
minimum value and the owner had an exclusive right over
it. With the passage of time, new ideas cropped in new
concepts and means for the progress of mankind were
thought of and new inventions came to the forefront,
which brought about industrial, economical and cultural
developments of the society
The intellectual property is an asset and as such, it
can be bought, sold, mortgaged, licenced, exchanged or
gratuitously given away like any other form of the property.
Further, by acquiring a legal right over the properly, the
creator of the intellectual property seeks to engage that he
has exclusive right over it and that property can be put to
use by others only with his consent. Besides, ownership of
intellectual property gives legal recognition and rewards to
one for his/her creative efforts, source of national wealth
and mark of an economic leadership in the context of
global market scenario.
