Dr. Andrew McKenzie- Gopsill, recently joined the staff at AAFC Charlottetown as a Weed Scientist. He hold degrees from Trent University and the University of Guelph. His research combines field and lab work in the areas of applied weed science, integrated weed management and plant and stress physiology. Richard Kersbergen, MSc. is an Extension Professor, Sustainable Dairy and Forage Systems, University of Maine Cooperative Extension. He works closely with livestock producers throughout Maine. Dr. Robert P. Larkin is a Research Plant Pathologist with the USDA-Agricultural Research Service, New England Plant, Soil, and Water Laboratory, Orono, ME, and has been there for 18 years. His primary areas of research are in the biological and cultural control of soilborne diseases of potato, disease- suppressive rotation crops, sustainable cropping systems, soil health, and soil microbial communities. He has authored more than 200 publications. Dr. John Jemison is an Extension Professor of Soil & Water Quality, University of Maine Cooperative Extension. John has worked for a number of years with various oilseeds. He has used high glucosinolate seeds as biofumigants with different planting times - full season cover crops and late fall planted covers. Dr. Aaron Mills has been a Research Scientist with AAFC Charlottetown for five years. He holds degrees from NSAC, UPEI, and Dal. Most of his work is focused on different aspects of PEI cropping systems including soil health measurements and overall system productivity. He is also working to generate local data to help growers to include new crops in the rotation including emerging pulses, oilseeds and grains. Nikhil Vadhavkar earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Johns Hopkins University and spent five years at MIT working towards his PhD. He previously led a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to investigate the use of drones for emergency medical supply delivery in developing countries. Nikhil is co-founder and CEO of Raptor Maps, a Y Combinator-backed startup that builds software to save time and reduce the cost of farming.
