Danielle Brander, MD, completed her medical degree, internal medicine residency, andhematology/oncology fellowship at Duke University. She continues there as faculty in theDivision of Hematologic Malignancies & Cellular Therapy as well as at the Duke CancerInstitute.
Dr. Brander leads the Duke Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and Indolent Lymphoma Clinic,where she serves as site primary investigator for all CLL clinical trials, many in collaboration withother academic CLL research centers. She is the team lead for both the Duke LymphomaClinical Research Working Group and the Duke B-cells Behaving Badly Research WorkingGroup, and is dedicated to institutional and national educational initiatives.
Dr. Brander has participated nationally in both the American Society of Hematology (ASH)Clinical Research Training Program and the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) LymphomaClinical Research Mentoring Program. Along with other members of the Duke CLL ResearchTeam, Dr. Brander studies CLL biomarkers that could aid in predicting treatment-related toxicityand resistance, and could serve as future therapeutic targets. She hopes to continue to bringnovel treatment approaches to her patients.
Dr. Brander has been honored for her research and teaching. She has received awardsincluding the Silber Award for Most Outstanding Fellowship Research, the ElizabethtownCollege Apgar Distinguished Alumni Award, and the William Kane Hematology/Oncology JuniorFaculty Teaching Award.
