WHAT WE DOEVRAZ Regina uses an electric arc furnace to sustainably produce high-strength steel that is rolled into plate and coil, primarily for tubular products at Regina and its sister mills in Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta. The plate also serves a variety of industries including heavy equipment, military and agriculture. EVRAZ Regina operates a state-of-the-art Research and Development Center, achieving advancements in product development and conducting full-scale steel metallurgy and functionality testing of plate, line pipe and oil country tubular goods.

BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOURIn addition to $30 million in company and employee contributions to the federal and provincial economy through direct taxes, EVRAZ also drives $112 million into the local community through employee wages and benefits each year. About $605 million is spent with local businesses.

EVRAZ is committed to environmental stewardship. The Regina steelmaking process is fed by EVRAZ Recycling, the largest metals recycler in western Canada. In addition, Regina uses a closed loop or zero liquid effluent system to cool its furnace, greatly reducing the mill’s water usage. Outside of the facility, the company has supported a number of conservation projects.

Just as being a major employer and environmental steward is central to our operations, so is responsible corporate citizenship. Since 2012 when its Reading Sparks® children’s literacy program started, Book Nooks have been established in a number of schools, community and family centres, and the company is supporting literacy programs like The Battle of the Books in major elementary school systems. EVRAZ Regina is also responsible for more than $800,000 in Aboriginal scholarships, and we fund apprenticeship trades programs for up to 20 students each year.

The company supports United Way, and operates a pool and park on its property for 15,000-18,000 visitors each summer.
