THE ICE CREAM MAN Last year I was met with enormous crowds wanting to hear about Christ and His plan for their lives. Everywhere I went I was met with very hungry soul seeking people. I was finished preaching in the patio area of home. It was an outdoor area and many could not fit in. After the ser-vice we were taking questions from the crowd. In the dis-tant I could hear a familiar sound that I remembered when I was a boy growing up. It was the sound of ca-ching ca-ching ca-ching. I knew that sound was that sound of a bell on a bicycle and it meant the ice cream man was com-ing. No it can’t be in India, can it?

When I saw many children run out of our meeting I decided to follow. Sure enough at the end of the village was a man in his 50’s riding a bicycle and on the front was attached a cooler with dry ice and an assortment of ice cream bars. I looked into the cooler to find that it was full and he had enough to give to everyone at the meeting. I invited him by my eyes and motioned for him to follow me with the chil-dren to where we were holding a meeting. Through Uday my interpreter I asked him to give to everyone at the meeting what bar they would like to have to their surprise and delight. The cost was very little and my supporters would understand. After the joy of ice cream I got into a discussion with the man and found out he did not know Christ and was a Hindu by birth. I witnessed and asked the preachers with me to get back to this fascinating man. A month ago I was about to present the gospel to a far out village and there was a man in the audience that looked very familiar. I shark hands with everyone and when doing so with this man his smile seemed to glisten. When I was about to deliver the message, Uday asked me if this man looked familiar to me and I said yes but drew a blank on when, where, etc I had seen him. Uday explained to me that it was The Ice Cream man from last year. Our act of kindness to the village got him to open his heart to Jesus. He accepted Christ as His Savior and was baptized and a faithful worker in his church. All because of ca-ching and the prompting of the Spirit to take action. That I will never forget? THE LIBERTY WELL Two years ago I was heading into one of Indias famous villages clear in the boonies. I preached Jesus and called for souls to accept Him. The village people came forward. I dedicated a brand new church building that our American churches had provided the money ($3000) to build. As I was leaving a woman of about 50 attached herself on my left leg and started to cry. What does this woman want of me? She wasn’t begging for money as so many others were she wanted me to know that the village had no water that the women had to walk a very long way morning and evening to secure water for their families. She wanted a well.

I know what it's like to be hit hard across the face and have my hair grabbed so that my head could be slammed into a wall repeatedly until I passed out and fell unconsciously on the floor like a wet rag. I know how it feels to be caught in an explosion and regain consciousness hours later and find myself several feet away from the blast site. I know what it's like to be caught in a rebel uprising and be faced with a rifle pointed right between my eyes, only inches away, by a soldier with his finger on the trigger, preparing to shoot me as everyone was screaming 'he's an American' which only added to the confusion. I could have used Body Armor when Muslims started stoning me. Although Body Armor is designed to save our life, still we must be prepared to "endure hardships as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" [II Tim.2:3] so "that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier" [Verse 4]. Therefore "We wrestle not against flesh and blood" [Eph.6:11] because "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal" [II Cor. 10:4]. Instead we wrestle "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" [Eph.6:12]. God is still looking for some good recruits. All of this can describe the world of our day; just look at our current news reports. Our response should be as Paul directed: "stand therefore" [V.14] "that you may be able to withstand in the evil day." Does any well informed person need to be persuaded that we are currently living in such a time as this describes!! All of this advice often goes unheeded because we don't see things as they really are. Peter painfully learned this lesson from Jesus, when he ignorantly "took him and began to rebuke" our Lord's an-nouncement that He was to die [Mt.16:22]. Jesus' response was quite startling. He ignored Peter and spoke directly to the source of the problem saying: "Get behind Me, Satan!" Think of how shocked Peter must have been to learn this. We must accept that it is the work of Satan: "the god of this world" to "blind the minds of them which believe not" [II Cor.4:4]. He is the "thief that comes for nothing but to steal and to kill, steal and to destroy" [Jn.10:10]. Satan is the enemy with whom we must do battle. Unless we see Satan as the real enemy we will fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah 44:18 in Mk.8:17-18: "do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?" The application of this concept to our world today is virtually endless. Here is a current example: the Supreme Court has redefined marriage to include two of the same sex. To those not restricted from reality, this makes as much sense as marrying a dog to a chicken. Now there are also laws that want to allow boys in girls' bathrooms. Unfortunately there is no one so blind as those who will not see. The future of our nation and our Christian values are at stake today. We must speak now or forever be silenced. Will you help White Fields with needed funds to fight this good fight of faith? Recently I learned of a N.T. church in Chad that has been lost to Pentecostalism because missionaries stopped going there and financial help ended. It could be now or never for other churches as we face an ever increasing cry for financial help. If the needs increase and the funds decrease, Satan wins. You have an oppor-tunity to make a difference now that may not exist later. If you pray about it we believe that God will guide you and bless you richly [I Cor. 15:58].

In the first century, Jesus predicted in Mt. 24:6 that "you will hear of wars and rumor of wars," and history has proven this to be true up until this very day. He also made it clear that these wars would in-volve the people of God. He said in verse 9 that His disciples would be delivered up to be afflicted and killed for His name sake. These words would apply to the destruction of Jerusalem and continue down through the pages of history to today's ISIS and touch Ameri-ca as well as the Middle East. Today the Syrian refugees are in the news. Mt.4:24 tells us that Jesus' "fame went throughout all of Syr-ia." Luke reported that Paul also went through Syria "confirming the churches," which he and Silas had established [Acts 15:41]. The Gentile Romans sought to kill Jesus as a child [Mt.2:16] and later the Jewish hierarchy used them to succeed. The apostle John

summarized Christ's life saying: "He came unto His own and His own did not received Him" [Jn.1:11]. In the garden of prayer, "a great multitude came with swords" [Mt.26:47] to capture Him, treating Him as a dangerous criminal. At that time the greatest military army in the world was the Roman army. They were noted for their offensive weapon, the sword. The N. T. describes it as: "a sharp two edged sword" [Heb. 4:12; Rev.1:16], which cut deeply in any direction, making it a powerful deadly weapon. Paul warned Chris-tians in Rome [Rm. 13:4] that the Romans didn't "carry the sword in vain." Paul used this information to compare how much farther the word of God could cut into the hearts of men: "the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and joint and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" [Heb.4:12]. This was Christ's meaning when He said: "I came not to send peace, but a sword" [Mt.10:34]. The Romans were also notorious for their own version of "Body Armor." It has been reported that: "The Roman soldier wore a girdle, breast-plate, shoes with iron nails, a helmet to protect his head, and carried a great shield on his left arm which was thrown in front of his body. His weapon was the sword. It was with the sword, not the spear as other countries, that the Romans con-quered the world. And these represent parts of the Christians spiritual armor." This "Body Armor" was so prominent that Paul used it to teach the Ephesians and us to do likewise, regarding our lives, by putting on "the whole Armor of God." This phrase is repeated by Paul twice, in Eph.6:11, and 13, for emphasis. How many of us are doing this today? We must first realize that Body Armor is only needed by soldiers who engage in battle where living and dying take place. I was reminded of this when my oldest son recently left for Afghanistan. Before leaving he allowed me to put on his Body Armor which was so heavy that it required extra effort just to lift it and put it over my body. Although I have never been in the military, I do know the "kick" of firing an AK-47. I have over the years had some unusual experiences which helped me understand a little better the value of Body Armor and Paul's advice regarding using it.

I have helped people over the years to get the necessities they needed but never a well in India. How does one go about do-ing that? I made many inquiries over the year. Last year I went to the same village again. I did not know we were going there the 2nd time. The very first lady came anxiously to me and again attached herself to my leg asking for a well. Alright I will promise this village a well, if God provides the $3000.00 to drill, test and build a well. My home church where I minister with an attendance of 25 took on the challenge. Our 8 ladies from New Liberty Christian Church, Veedersburg, Indiana, decided to make egg noodles from scratch and sell them to raise money for this well. The project was to last two years. But in reality it lasted only 9 months and the money was raised. We sent the money to have the well dug and functional before I came to dedicate it. This year it was great celebrations of singing, drum playing, food and fun games. The dedication was a suc-cess. We named it The Liberty Well, free to all people and painted it a bright RED so no one would miss it. Amen! We went to the village to find our woman very sorrowful over the death of her husband do to cancer the day before. We provided the flowers, the ceremony, the casket and the grave digging and the burial. She was pleased that we were there, conducted the funeral, and the present of the well that she so wanted! 814 BROUGHT TO JESUS Once again it was my privilege to go to India for the 5th time. As was the case the other 4 times I was not going for a vacation. It was time to work and work hard. In spite of the dangers from the Hindu nation, the border patrol, I went knowing that God and the Holy Spirit were going to protect our team efforts and open doors that had been closed or never opened.

I stayed the two weeks in a Hindu hotel. Everyone knew I was from America and everyone knew that I was “different”. I made friends with all of the staff the very first day and kept that up every day. They gathered around me when I left and thanked me for staying with them. I reported each day what Temples I had seen and some I had visited. I made friends with every police I could meet and felt guarded and safe. From the beginning I knew that there was to be a primi-tive hotel stay so to speak. No TP, soap, wash cloth, no toilet seat that worked, no hot water and no show-er. Cold water gets you active for the day.

Some 10-12 hours a day in 45+ villages Jesus was pre-sented with His love and acceptance. 814 souls I wit-nessed coming to Christ while I was there and many more after I left. What a tremendous joy! Over miles and miles of traveling to sites I have never been to peo-ple I would only meet once here on earth and then in Heaven at the welcome party. At age 72, praise God, no aches, pains, just pure happi-ness that God has allowed me to serve Him again. PREACHERS FEET My taxi driver for 10 days was a Christian and seeming-

ly loved being with us in every village. I noticed his feet as well as the feet of those preachers riding with us from village to village. Many were shoeless or broken. After prayer and gut sorting in my soul I asked my band of preachers to stop at a nice shoe store. I asked everyone to go with me and I talked to the owner and said I wanted to buy 9 pairs of nice shoes for these Men of God. Those men who were not afraid and bold enough to preach the Gospel of great joy and good tiding to everyone they meet. Oh yes, I wanted a discount. These preachers sang with joy. Many did not have shoes at all and the others did not have new shoes for 8 years. While saving souls we provided to them new soles for their feet. SUMMARY Having just returned from my 5th trip to India I can tell you that there is nothing like it. Preaching the Gospel to the Hindus, Muslims, and the non-Christian and actually watching them respond to the message of God. Watching them as they are buried with Christ in baptism, setting up new Churches, training new preachers is way beyond what I had imagined I would be doing at my “retired” age. There were 320 souls on my first trip, 420 on the 2nd, 756 on the 3rd, 1081 on the 4th trip and lastly 814. WOW! Again I may say to all of you that I am no more special or gifted than my classmates, preachers, teachers, elders, etc. I caught the fire for souls and the passion to win as many souls as I can under the direction of the Holy Spirit before I die. Not retire, but die. Thanks to all of you who pray for me and support our work so I can do what God has directed me to do! Rich McQuinn White Fields Evangelist
