QUAMBA® is a carbonated drink made with lime and panela, an artisanal unrefined whole cane sugar.

®¿What is Quamba?

Panela production represents one of the most traditional rural agro-industries in Colombia. In contrast to the sugar industry, panela is made in small farms using artisanal processes in which prevails a high intensity of family work, as well as very low rates of technology introduction. Panela is produced in almost all the country throughout the year. It is the basic economy of 236 municipalities in 12 departments and employs around 350,000 people, or 12% of the economically active rural population, thus being the second source of employment after coffee.

QUAMBA® pays homage to rural farmers and to popular flavors that represents and identifies Colombia, from the peninsula of La Guajira to the Amazon Trapeze. QUAMBA® seeks to position itself as a representative beverage of Colombian cultural identity at national and international level.

PhilosophyOur

The total profit resulting from the sale of this product is intended to support development projects led by the Leo Espinosa Foundation, FUNLEO, a non profit organization focused on identifying, vindicate and enhance gastronomic traditions of Colombian communities, based on their biological, cultural and immaterial heritage, promoting well-being, health and nutrition.

QUAMBA® is made using only Colombian ingredients: natural lemon juice from Tolima, in the central Andean region; panela processed by women belonging to strata 1 and 2 in the municipality of Villeta, Cundinamarca, grouped under the “Displaced Women and Heads of Households Association DULCE CAÑA” who make this artisanal product

Sugarcane products have a wide range of health benefits. Panela is a type of sugar without any process of refinement, result of the evaporation of the sugarcane juice. From the nutritional point of view, it also contains minerals, proteins and traces of some vitamins, phenolic acids, polyphenols and flavonoids, which provide antioxidant properties. This product does not contain artificial additives or flavorings.

QUAMBA® is an excellent mixer for alcoholic beverages and white spirits, standing out for its versatility in creative mixology.

Tasting notesLight amber colored. Fresh and citric character, with aromas

typical of sugarcane, honey, and herbal notes provided by lemongrass. In the palate, the acidity from the lime juice

balances the sweetness of panela very well.
