Reflexive Verbenmit Akkusativ

A reflexive verb is a verb that has an object which is the same as the subject of the verb. German uses the reflexive much more frequently than English does. Normally the reflexive pronoun will be accusative. The following list is for reflexive verbs and reflexive verb preposition combinations in German that take an accusative object.

To amuse oneself

Ich amüsiere mich.

I amuse myself.

To get angry

sich benehmen

To behave oneself

Er kann sich nicht benehmen.

He can’t behave himself.

sich entscheiden

To decide for oneself

Ich kann mich nicht entscheiden.

I can’t decide. (for myself)

To excuse onself

Ich muss mich leider entschuldigen.

I must regretfully excuse myself.

sich erinnern an + Akk

To remember

Du musst dich daran erinnern.

You have to remember about that.

sich erkälten

To catch a cold

Ich habe mich erkältet.

I have caught (myself) a cold.

sich freuen

To be happy

Ich freue mich.

I am happy.

To look forward to
