What did we learn?Me and Rubi were in another group, but due to different timetables, we decided me and Rubi will do our own preliminary task together.

Me and Rubi found it hard finding actors as everyone was busy and had their own work to do, so we decided we’ll put a friend, Harley in the task, and myself. We have learnt from this, that in the future, we will organise everything beforehand and not leave the actors and filming schedule to last minute.

Our first location was the canteen staircase, but we then had to change the location as there were many people disrupting our filming. We then decided we were going to film in the corridor whilst everyone was in lesson as there will therefore be no disturbance. The only problem with this was the lighting had changed as we were near the window and made our preliminary task to turn out dark.

In the future, we have learnt that we will choose a better location so we have no disruptions and also make sure the lighting is good for us to fulfil our criteria.

Filming CorrectlyMyself and Rubi were finding it difficult to film with the equipment as it was broken or not working properly. When we tried using the dolly, we saw it was broken which because of that, we had to hold the tripod into place so the dolly works. The first day we had filmed, we filmed nearly all of our preliminary task, but our camera battery had died so therefore we had to film the rest the next day.We made sure the actors had froze in their position in order to fulfil the criteria whilst the camera man had moved to film from a different angle.

SoundThe difficulties we had with sound was because of the students in the background getting their lunch. As we filmed in the corridor, the only sound disruptions we had was from the dolly as it wasn’t working properly and was shaking. In the future, we will film during our lesson time so it’s quieter, and we have no sound disruptions.

EditingWhen we got to the editing stage, the software we used was final cut pro.We also learnt how to split a clip so we can take out the unwanted parts and then our clips will go well together and run smoothly without any extra bits. Also, we learnt how to hide jumps in our clips so it fits well into the other clips and looks more professional.
