REFLECTION ABOUT EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY I learned educational psychology, approaches to educational psychology, positivist school and cognitive psychology in this class. I learned that education is caried out by a teacher and it involves in transmitting information to the learners, guiding the learners to gain knowledge and helping them to learn something. At the same time, we talked that learning is part of the process of education and during education learners should be willing to learn so when I become a teacher, I should know warming and cooler activities in order to make them to be willing. In this way, when I feel that my students are bored, I can use these activities to motivate them again. Moreover, I should update myself not to go out of fashion. The other subject we talked about is behaviorism, Skinners suggestions, cognitive psychology and its suggestions. Behaviorists suggest that reinforcement is necessary to learn something and with this idea they created ALM. I learned that ALM may be quite useful for special learners but it is not sufficient for normal learners so behaviorism is lack of the function of language. Skinner suggested that learning was the result of environmental rather than genetic factors. Moreover, he thought lessons should be clear and should be made step by step and tasks should be broken down into small steps. According to Skinner, teacher should encourage the learners to work themselves and learning should be programmed. As a result, cognitive psychology emerged because of lack of behaviorism. Cognitivists give importance human mind about learning in contrast with behaviorism. There are three contents of cognitive psychology. First one is information processing that is the way in which people take in information, process and act upon it. Second one is memory that has two types such as long-term memory store and short-term memory store. Third
