REFERENCE:

1. the use of a source of information in order to ascertain something.

2. a relation between objects in which one object designates, or acts as a means by which to connect to or link to, another object.

REMEMBER: Always try to start big with the largest overall reference points and work your way down in scale to the smaller details

IN CLASS ACTIVITY:

1. Start by taking the overall measurements of the room, and create an existing fl oor plan.

2. Locate the existing columns in the room and show the visible portion of the structural grid on your plan.

3. Locate your desk on the plan by using existing reference points / lines so that if the room was cleared out and rearranged, anyone would be able to put your desk back exactly where is currently is.
