Huynh was placed at Hydrosteer during his Mechanic Engineering Degree, IBL placement program.

This position was for 12 months, commencing 19/01/2015 and continued through to 28/02/2016.

During this period Huynh worked with myself in an Engineering Cadet role. The position was

designed to give exposure to industry based tasks and experiences. Being a relatively small company

Huynh was involved many different elements of enigeering including:

- Design and modelling parts, using Solidworks

- Assisting onsite with Customer requirements

- Assisting with design and development

- Over seeing manufacturing of parts, directing/working with fitter and Turners

- Quality Control checking of one product type.

- Preparing documentation for customer’s projects.

- Following up with Suppliers and supply status.

- Managing small projects from creating scope, through design, review, manufacturing and

product verification.

Huynh was responsible for most 3D modelling that was completed for several major projects, and

production elements. An example, a customer required a modified steering gear, Huynh helped

develop the solution, over saw the design and manufacture of a proto-type to approve the concept,

modelled all the parts of the new design and manufactured the production item that was delivered.

This required supervising and directing fitter and turners in the fabrication of the proto-type,

redesigning faults.

During this period with Hydrosteer, Huynh was a productive member of the staff, displaying a

positive attitude and enthusiastically approached all tasks given. He was able to work well and

supervise everyone he came in contact with including staff, customer or suppliers.

Huynh was eager to learn and quick to apply many concepts that he was exposed to during his IBL

placement. Huynh was attentive to his work, reliable and consistent.

Huynh was a pleasure to work with and I wish him every success with his studies and future career.
