those games by an independent FA registered

assessor who will observe your performance

and offer you a report detailing your strengths

help you enhance and develop key referee

skills required at both Level 6 and Level 5.

This is workshop-based and will involve

presentations as well as you getting involved.

The examination is a multiple-choice question

paper which asks you questions on the Laws

of the Game as well as practical on-eld

situations. My advice to anyone attending such

workshops would be to have a look at the Laws

of the Game and make sure your knowledge is

up to date as there is a requirement to achieve

a 75% pass mark.

If the County recognise someone who has

exceptional talent as a budding referee they

can offer a referee two promotions in one

season provided they meet all the criteria for

both levels. This means refereeing a minimum

of 40 games in the one marking season,

a minimum of three assessments at both levelsand attending both in-service training events

This is a tall order and will only apply

to a very few referees.
