HOLY COMMUNION

We celebrate the Sacrament of the Altar in the confidence of receiving from Jesus Christ all that he promises when he gives us his body and blood with the bread and wine. Believing that Christ is truly present in the sacrament we receive the benefits of forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and salvation. Those who hold a different confession of faith are asked to speak to the pastor before communing.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Redeemer’s Sunday School is presenting their Christmas Service today at the 10:45 worship service. The service entitled, “To Us a Child is Born,” will feature the students sharing the Christmas story in word and song. We extend our thanks to the students and staff of our Sunday School for the time and effort they offered to prepare this program and enhance our worship: Worship Leader: Chantel Denker; Superintendent: Jodi Andel; Teachers: Carolyn Dostal, Erin Barta, Paige Glasshoff, Jessica Ewert, Tricia Romshek, Dani Beerbohm, Robin Sullivan, Chantel Denker, Heather Allen, and Amy Moravec. Please note that we will not usher out after the service; worshipers are free to greet one another and exit when ready.

Redeemer’s Preschool will have its Christmas program on Tuesday evening at the church. A dinner at 6:00 will be followed by a program featuring the students of our Preschool.

Immanuel Members: Christmas Eve and Day offerings are designated for Lutheran Family Services. Please note that the 2017 Offering Envelopes are available in the narthex, please take a box and sign the sheet next to box number.

Redeemer Members: Please check your mailbox for important and timely information on year-end funding needs.

Immanuel’s District Budget pledge is short of the goal for 2016. Please help by designating your offering for District Budget.

Pastor Palomaki has declined the Call to serve St. John Lutheran Church, Kramer (rural Crete). Your prayers and comments were appreciated during the time of deliberation. Worship Note: Please note that next Sunday’s service at Redeemer will be at 10:00 AM because of Christmas Day.

Sunday Bible Class at both Redeemer and Immanuel will not be held from Dec. 18 to Jan. 1. Classes will resume on Jan. 8.

Our thanks to Susie Sedlak and Mary Williams for preparing and serving the Christmas Caroling Supper last Sunday!
