History• The Company was founded in 1979 by Mr. Irshad Mirza & Mr. Rashid

Mirza under Mirza Tanners Private Limited which later became Mirza

International Limited.

• It started as a small tannery for manufacturing finished leather located at

Magarwara near Kanpur.

• In the initial years, the company focused on supplying high quality leather &

leather products to overseas markets.

• Later the company became one of the largest overseas suppliers of finished

leather in the country.

• The global shoe market was then looking upon outsourcing of leather

footwear. To take advantage of this opportunity, Mirza International

diversified into manufacturing of shoes.

• Very swiftly, five state-of-the-art manufacturing units were setup across

Unnao, Noida and Greater Noida.

• Mirza International quickly reorganized itself by setting up in-house design and

development studios, marketing offices and a strong distribution and logistics

network.

• The company launched its own brands ‘Red Tape’, 'Bond Street', ‘Oaktrak’ and

'Yezdi'.

• Today, Red Tape has emerged as the one of the most stylish lifestyle brands

available.

• The brand is highly successful in the mature western markets of UK and USA,

apart from having a strong domestic market.

• Some of the countries where the Company products have a significant

presence are UK, USA, Germany and France.

• In 2012, Mirza International commenced the modernization process of its

existing tannery. The modernization process was completed in 2015 and today,

the state-of-the-art tannery is the largest in India and among the most

environmental friendly tanneries in the world.
