BACKGROUND

• The red hot chilli peppers are a alternative rock band that started in los angles in 1983. they have become one of the

most successful rock bands to date. They have released albums such as stadium arcadium and by the way. It has four

members but has lost many over the years.

THE FRONT COVER • Throughout the Digipak , the same colour, theme and font. The

fly on the pill is one of the mains themes. As they are already a big band they will not have to promote the bands image as much as first album band. The person who designed the albums front cover was controversial artist Damien Hirst who is famous for his use of formaldehyde. The album title is printed on the side of the pill. This could mean that this is album is a drug that you need. Most alternative rock album have a artistic front cover and this is no exception. A reason for the flies could be to promote an anti drugs message. The saying goes “like a fly around shit”. Drugs replacing the shit

FRONT COVER

Another link to the main theme of the album of flies . Flies are and the pills are a constant theme. “RHCP” on the side of the pill stands for red hot chilli peppers

The back cover of the album has the same the writing as the rest of the album. All of the letters O’s on the back of the album are replaced by Pills

The inside of the album is yet again quite minimal like the front cover. This further proves the point that they do not need to promote the band images as they are already an established band

Inside the album booklet I t contain lyrics of the song on the album and one picture of the band together.

THE BAND MEMBERS

• The album booklet has individuals photos of the band members. They are all sitting in a café. They all sit in the same seat and some use ketchup as blood for comic effect.

The cd for the album has all of the songs on the album. Yet again it has a white background and the same font.
