QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Paul Revere earned his living as a silversmith. But what do we remember

him for? His volunteer work. All activism is volunteering in that it’s done above and beyond earning a living and

deals with what people really care passionately about. Remember, no one gets paid to rebel. All revolutions start

with volunteers.

OUTREACH MINISTRY

For several years we have had numerous parishioners who bring Communion on the weekend to our homebound or hospitalized parishioners. By bringing Communion to our homebound you show how valued they are as members of the parish. Please contact the rectory at 508-755-0408 to let us know if there is someone who would benefit from these visits or if you would like to join this ministry. Training is provided.

Haitian Sewing Ministry The Haitian Sewing Ministry meets on Wednesday morning in the church hall from 9am until noon. We welcome new volunteers all year long. Volunteer tasks include sewing, cutting fabrics, pressing fabrics and assembling kits for those who wish to sew at home. Light refreshments and coffee are always available during our sessions. Please feel free to drop in and join us, or drop in to pick up kits any time on Wednesday mornings until noon. For more information, please contact Marianne Girouard at 508-798-8330, [email protected].

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time “Blessed are you when people hate you,…exclude and insult you, and denounce your name…on account of the Son of Man.” (Luke 6:22) All of us have been in situations when someone has made a negative comment or joke about God or our Catholic faith. How did you respond? Did you stay silent or pretend to go along with the crowd because you didn’t want to cause waves and then, later, you felt bad? Know that God is with you all the time, the Holy Spirit will put the right words in your mouth. Pray for the strength and courage to proclaim our faith to others, especially during uncomfortable situations.
