Arkhangelsk is one of the oldest Russian cities. It was founded in 1584 on the bank of the Northern Dvina not far from the place where it flows into the White Sea. Before the foundation of St. Petersburg Arkhangelsk was the only "window" to Europe and the only seaport.Situatied on the right bank of the Northern Dvina River and on several islands, the city amazes by its vast building scale and contrasts of its old and modern parts.During the last years the city has changed greatly. A lot of many-storeyed buildings and public cultural centers were erected.Arkhangelsk is one of the largest scientific and cultural centers in the European North. There are three higher educational institutions: Pomor University, Technical University and Medical University, many research institutes, concert halls and three theaters. For admission a foreign student should submit the following documents to the University

Certificate of Secondary/Higher Education (original) including credits and subjects studied, & stating the right to study in a higher educational institution.

Medical Certificate (original) confirming no AIDS.

Medical Certificate (original) confirming no contradictions in terms of studying in .

Photocopy of passport with 8 photos, 4x6 cm

Submit the mark sheet & certificate of 10 th & 12 th, which have been certified from Govt. India(HRD) .

On receiving the written invitation from the Rector of the University, the student should arrive to the University according to the time indicated in the invitation.
