The NCI will act as an apex body for the network of the SCIs and TCCCs and shall develop and mentor Cancer related activities. Apart from treatment, the centre’s main focus will be translational research in India-specific cancers.

The soft launch of National Cancer Institute, which is a part of the AIIMS-II campus in Haryana’s Jhajjar, took place on December 18, 2018. The state-of-art cancer centre is a part of the AIIMS-II campus at Jhajjar, for which the Haryana government gave 300 acres of land to AIIMS.

The NCI has come up in 35 acres. The institute has been modelled after United States’ National Cancer Institute (NCI). It is developed as the premier institute for all activities related to cancer in the country and will have the linkages with all regional cancer centres.

The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty, formally Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Elimination of Their Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles) is a 1987 arms control agreement between the United States and the Soviet Union (and later its successor state the Russian Federation). Signed in Washington, D.C. by President Ronald Reagan and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev on 8 December 1987, the treaty was ratified by the United States Senate on 27 May 1988 and came into force on 1 June 1988.

The INF Treaty eliminated all nuclear and conventional missiles, as well as their launchers, with ranges of 500–1,000 kilometers (310–620 mi) (short-range) and 1,000–5,500 km (620–3,420 mi) (intermediate-range). The treaty did not cover sea-launched missiles.By May 1991, 2,692 missiles were eliminated, followed by 10 years of on-site verification inspections.

Anup Kumar (born 20 November 1983) is a former Indian professional Kabaddi player. He was a member of the India national kabaddi team that won Asian gold medals in 2010 and 2014, one South Asian gold medal in 2016 and the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. He was the captain of the Indian National Kabaddi Team. He is one of the most successful raiders of Pro Kabaddi League and International Kabaddi. He spent five years with U Mumba and later moved to Jaipur Pink Panthers. In 2012, the Government of India conferred the Arjuna Award on him for his achievements in the sport.He is employed as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in his native State of Haryana.

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow. Bone marrow produces blood cells. Leukemia can happen when there is a problem with the production of blood cells. It usually affects the leukocytes, or white blood cells. Leukemia is one of the most common childhood cancers, but it most often occurs in older adults.Leukemia can be fatal, but there are ways of treating and controlling the disease and its symptoms. Leukemia happens when the DNA of immature blood cells, mainly white cells, becomes damaged in some way.

This causes the blood cells to grow and divide continuously, so that there are too many.

Healthy blood cells die after a while and are replaced by new cells, which are produced in the bone marrow.

The abnormal blood cells do not die when they should. They accumulate, occupying more space.

As more cancer cells are produced, they stop the healthy white blood cells from growing and functioning normally, by crowding out spce in the blood.

Essentially, the bad cells crowd out the good cells in the blood.

A dioptre (British spelling) or diopter (American spelling) is a unit of measurement of the optical power of a lens or curved mirror, which is equal to the reciprocal of the focal length measured in metres. (1 dioptre = 1 m−1.) It is thus a unit of reciprocal length. For example, a 3-dioptre lens brings parallel rays of light to focus at 1⁄3 metre. A flat window has an optical power of zero dioptres, and does not cause light to converge or diverge.
