    What Is Recruitment ?

    Recruitment refers to the process of attracting,

    screening, and selecting qualified people for a job at

    an organization or firm.

    According to Flippo Recruitment is the process of

    searching for prospective employees and stimulating

    them to apply for jobs in the organization.

    Recruitment process starts with its planning which

    involves the determination of number of applicants and

    type of applicants to be contacted.

    Number ofContacts: The organization has to plan about

    the number of application it should receive in order to

    fulfill all its vacancies with right personnel.

    Type ofContacts: This refers to type of personnel to beinformed about the job opening based on job description

    and job specification.

    Basically ,there are two sources of recruitment

    Internal Sources: Present employees.

    External Sources: Workforce outside the organization.

    After the finalization of sources from where the

    prospective candidates will be selected, the process of

    contacting these sources Starts.

    Recruitment is two way street; It Involves Recruiter &Recruit.

    The recruiterhas the choice of whom, to recruit based

    on various information about the candidates.

    A recruit must have Information about the organization

    to decide whether to join it or not .

    When the source of recruitment are contacted, theorganization receives application from prospective

    candidates.

    The Number of applications depends on the type of

    organization, the type of jobs, and the conditions in

    specific human resource market.
