Company Idents

Company Idents are normally built up in frames with their company logo and then it all fades to black. The build up for each company ident and the graphics and texts included are which make them all so different and intresting. The build normally includes an out of focus picture and then it comes into focus in the centre of the screen.

Company Idents in teaser trailers

Company idents always appear at the beginning of teaser trailers and are in the beginning of the first 00.00 to 00.05 Seconds.

Backgrounds

In most company idents the backgrounds all normally have a black background and when the logo appears into the centre of the screen it makes the bright colours of the logo stand out. I feel that we should create our ident with a black background so it contrasts with either the white, grey or red font that we layer on top of it. It looks a lot more profesional when the logo stands out and is bright and bold.

Company Idents for horror teaser trailers

When researching horror teaser trailers and looking at the company idents I realised that the teasers only show a tiny flash of the logo and not the full company ident as it is only a short version of the full trailer so theres not enough time for it. I looked at the teaser trailers for Insidious , the women in black and paranormal activity and they only last the duruation of 1-3 seconds.

The hills have eyes don’t include a company ident in their teaser trailer. We have choosen to have a company ident in our teaser trailer though so that it looks a lot more proffesional. The idents I have seen in all the horror genre films are dark and dull to fit in with the genre because if they were bright and colourful they wouldn’t be suitable for the genre. On the next slide there are some examples of idents from exsiting horror films.
